We really had a wonderful anniversary weekend at this gem of a hotel in Columbus. There were so many great details that it is hard to know where to start. The restaurant is simply delicious (the best braised short rib anywhere, ever; amazing breakfast, etc). The room is both grand and comfortable; it was impeccably clean. The staff (both at the restaurant and at the rest of the hotel) was very welcoming, charming and well trained; and you can tell they all love their jobs and put their hearts into it. I distinctly remember Yodi, who runs the front desk very efficiently and is also a kind and splendid concierge; and Brent, who kindly found a last hotel mug for us as a souvenir to our stay and went out in the street to deliver it to us. This place really tries, and it shows! The hotel location is very convenient, with a nice valet parking service. We took an uber to the nearby bookstore at the German Village and had heavenly beignets at Lindey's (please do yourself a favor and make a reservation there, it is a unique experience). On Sunday, we treated ourselves to a wonderful anniversary dinner at Jeff Ruby's - surely the best filet East of the Mississippi. All in all, a very memorable weekend.
