The Westin Great Southern Columbus

This hotel is very outdated and needs a lot of work. Renovations need to be made. Old furniture, stained carpet, musty, smell in the lobby, and stained bathroom towels. Poor customer service. I requested extra towels at check-in. Was told that they would be brought up to my room that afternoon. Got back to my room at 9:30 that night and there were not any towels. Had to call again. I waited an hour. Then I called again. It was now 1130. Was told she was the only person at the check-in desk and she would get up to the room as soon as she could. got our towels at 11:50 PM. They were warm like they just came out of the dryer. And they were damp. Absolutely disgusting. I would never stay here again. this is also a very sketchy neighborhood. Right across from a public bus stop. Buildings were abandoned. Definitely did not feel safe walking into this hotel.

The hotel is older but nice. The bedrooms are small but nice and beds are comfy. We were greeted when we came in to sign up the lady at the front desk was very nice. However the free breakfast was one of the worst experience ever. Our waiter barely looked at us put menus down and when we said good morning did not said a word. We ordered drinks and when I asked for ice tea was told they didn’t have it even though it’s on the menu. I ordered a muffin and guess what they didn’t have that either. The breakfast was fair. Coffee tasted like instant coffee. We would not go back and I would recommend the restaurant do away with the breakfast all together. It’s a big no.

This place is really a shame. It could be so much better. While the building is historic and the lobby is quite attractive .... that's all there is to this place. Nothing more. The rooms are extremely shabby with non matching furniture. Sofa's with different color pillows, etc. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It would appear the hotel is undergoing financial issues. It is staffed with ******, whom really don't know anything. The service in the meager restaurant was terrible, as was the food for breakfast. Coffee was good, but the imbecile never asked if I wanted a refill after a half hour. Then they had the nerve to include breakfast on my folio (we get it free). Next time treat your Ambassador guests with respect, and you won't get a negative review. Safe travels, and stay elsewhere !

We really enjoyed our stay there. From the Valet Parking, the door attendant to the staff who went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Everyone was so friendly, and helpful. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. There are suites and regular rooms. The restaurant food and service was very good , we really enjoyed it. There is a bar in the restaurant that is stocked with all kinds of drinks. Something for everyone. We were there last year and have seen great improvements in guest services and cleanliness. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Nice location on Main Street in downtown area . Valet is plus property very old updated but with old style from 90’s I don’t believe this property deserves 4 stars rating. It’s very average basic hotel should should not cost more then 120USD per night
