Courtyard Columbus Downtown

Courtyard Columbus Downtown is an old buidling adapted for use as a hotel. As such, it has some odd characteristics. When leaving check-in for our room there was a set of stairs we needed to climb to get to the elevators. Not very convenient when handling luggage. (If there was an elevator door on the same level as check-in, the staff neglected to tell us.) When we entered our room we saw another oddity. Immediately ahead of us were a few steps leading to the sleep area. This was a potential hazard if the bathroom was needed in the middle of the night. And speaking of the bathroom, the sink and mirror were in the entrance area, next to a door that led to the shower and toilet. Like I said, a bit odd. I also noticed that room safes are indicated in the listing of room amenities on Tripadvisor. If there was one in our room it was very safe indeed, as we could not find it. There is no on-site parking. You can use the hotel's valet service or a nearby public garage. Breakfast is available, although it is not included in the room rate. We will say that the staff was helpful and friendly.
