Staybridge Suites Columbus - Worthington

Wants to be up to other Staybridge hotels. Average stay but not equal to other Staybridge hotels we have stayed in. Could use a good cleaning especially the stairwells. The bed was comfortable. Plenty parking. Close to I-270. Coffee was cold at 730 am for breakfast. After pointing that out we did get hot coffee 10 minutes later. Average hotel stay but typically Staybridge would be a 5 star review.

The deskman on duty at our arrival was nice and friendly but things definitely went downhill from there. The hallway to our room smelled moldy. Then we opened the door to the room and were greeted by a portable air conditioner and a fan. There was a dirty glass in the sink and flies in the room probably from the air conditioning duct. At least the bed seemed clean and we were only staying one night. Breakfast area was not cleaned. Lesson learned - we should have read the reviews before booking.

Cons: Room is in need of repair. Dirty needle found on bathroom counter. Hotel needs a deep clean. Pros: Breakfast decent and size of the room is nice. Location is perfect with restaurants nearby. Starbucks up the street. Lots of hotels nearby, pick another one if you can.

Channelle (Sp) at reception was awesome and friendly. Checked in a 4:45PM and room was not ready. Was put in another room - upgraded to one bedroom suite. Room smelled like burnt old cheese popcorn. No other rooms available. Had to go to store and buy Febreze, Febreze Fabric, and Arm and Hammer Carpet Odor remover. Left room for 5 hours, smell still lightly there, did some more Febreze and same thing in middle of night. Door closed to room were out of order as well. Breakfast was more than I could ask for and staff was great.

Have stayed here on several occasions because of the two bedroom option, and we meet family here. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance as well. We always find enough parking. The rooms themselves were clean and service during our stay was exceptional.

very disappointed in this Staybridge suites being platinum elite and traveling at many different IHG properties. This was one of the worst Staybridge we have ever encountered. Front desk staff unfriendly and non accommodating. Wall paper was falling off the walls, and hotel maintenance greatly lacking. Hotel does not meet Federal ADA guidelines for wheelchair guests and only one designated handicapped parking space. I cannot understand how this location can keep its IHG designation...we will never stay there again. we were so glad that the IHG Holiday Inn Express was next door.

Let’s just start by saying the promotion photos of this hotel are the most clear cut example of pictures not representing a property accurately. This is not a good vibe to give a customer, but we’ll look past that for the rest of the review. This former Homewood Suites was “renovated” into a Staybridge and now represents the Staybridge brand. I’ve previously stayed at two other Staybridges, both ironically being in metro Columbus, and this was by far the most disappointing, but there is some good here. Location & Non Room: Easy 270 and 23 access, close to plenty of different things. The parking lot was a bit tight and dim, but workable. The lobby itself was quite nice but required a walk outside to get to the building housing rooms, why they couldn’t have connected them is beyond me. The fitness and business centers were nice, and the outdoor pool was closed for the season, as expected. The breakfast room was a bit dirty and the breakfast wasn’t great but I did come down towards the end. The hallways were nice, but the elevator was straight out of a ******* house, and one elevator serving three 36 room floors was not the world’s best idea. Staff: The lady that checked us in was very nice, and the lady working the next morning was equally pleasant, but I felt awful for her. Whoever thought putting one person on running Sunday morning breakfast, the phones, check out desk, customer complaints, and keeping the lobby/store/business center clean should be questioned. She simply needed help she didn’t have, but she remained extremely cheerful and friendly despite being overworked to the point of ridiculousness. One Annoying Complaint: The entire hotel smelled like a certain illegal substance (state plant of Colorado), I have no issues with people smoking what they want to smoke but doing it inside a hotel isn’t okay and management didn’t seem to care. The Room: In a word, meh. We had room 301, a one bedroom suite, and it had ups and downs. The security was fine, and the living room was very nice, as was the kitchen. The couch was clean and comfy; and the tables, drawers, and kitchen equipment were clean; save for some set in stains. The carpet was in good condition as was the wood in the kitchen. There was also a small, trapezoidal tiled area with a hastily put together wall that seemed to previously house a fire place. The window was in good shape, and the view was fine. Through a door was a hallway. It housed a closet, the bedroom door, and the bathroom door, and a sink. The closet was nice, as was the sink, no issues here. The bathroom had another sink, a tub/shower, and a toilet. The floor and sink were fine, as was the shower curtain and pump product, but the shower was one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Tons of bad caulk and black mold, with chips in the finish too. The bathroom fan was also very dim, dirty, falling off the ceiling, and extremely loud. Nope. Never again. Lobby a mess. Breakfast a disaster. Most of front of house employees are in sweat and sleep clothes. Apparently breakfast person was a no show (for second day this week) so front desk clerk was trying to answer phones and stock breakfast area ( with her toddler by her side). Guests had to search for utensils, condiments, plates, etc. First room we were assigned- neither tv worked and smoke detector’s battery needed replacing so it was making the high pitched squeaking noise. We were moved to another room that desperately needed repairs- molding coming loose, worn carpets and furniture. Outdoor areas need help. Only plus- our room was clean. Definitely the noise from interstate kept us awake- as mentioned in other reviews. Definitely a strong- NOPE.

Stayed here overnight on a drive to Indiana. Upon check-in the lobby stunk of cigarettes and hand sanitizer- my eyes were burning. I was not acknowledge as an IHG Platinum Member and the person was not very friendly or welcoming. We were given our key and directed to Door Entrance #5 which is where our suite was located. Building #5 security door was wide open for anyone and anything with 2 to 4 legs to enter from the main parking lot. It was open all night which is very concerning in regards to feeling unsafe. We put a chair against our room door for additional security. The hotel is extremely outdated. Our room’s AC did not work so they rigged up a portable unit that vented out our window. It had a room towel in the window to keep outside heat away since our window had to be open. We put a table against that window since we were ground level in the parking lot and did not want anyone to lift it up and climb into our room. Hot air was coming in the cracks between the towel and vent. The living area was freezing but the bedroom was hot due to not having AC. Hair was left in the shower, rust on the refrigerator, water damage on room ceiling and cracked floor tiles. Did not feel safe and the other guest were very sketchy. We checked on our suv a few times over the evening since we had a car carrier on top. Never again will I stay here. I should have known better to use my points to stay here - they should be giving me points back for putting up with this disaster of a hotel.
