I spoke with Mamie quite often while planning our romantic getaway. She was very friendly and accommodating. When I arrived, I was pleased with the location and the area was very quiet. Mamie showed me around the cottage and gave us restaurant suggestions. When I booked, I knew it was an older home, wooden floors, older style doors, dated decor, but all of that adds to the charm. The layout flowed well, The layout flowed and the neighborhood was very quiet at night. Mamie made us aware of renovating going on in the buildings so all things considered, it was very nice and we will definitely visit there again. I think when the renovations are done, it will be even more attractive. We will definitely go back.

Lovely Lovely. Considering the age of the property it was in great condition and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and the furnishings were charming.

There was a bed, and no breakfast This was a disappointing stay. The accommodation and services I reviewed, booked and paid for were not what I got. First, I was unable to reach the owner prior to check in. When we arrived on time for check in, I was told the room was not ready and the owner was not thrilled that we brought our dogs, despite the listing describing this place as pet friendly. This was off putting, but not the worst part. We came back a couple hours later and this is when I found out the Deluxe room with kitchenette was no longer available, and we were put in a small room downstairs. At this point, my kids and dogs have been in a car all day and Im exhausted, so I think maybe the service will make up for it. WRONG, no mention of the champagne service or hors d'oeuvres from the host that night. And when I asked about breakfast, I was ignored. AT A BED AND BREAKFAST. The room was nice enough if I had traveled alone, but I booked my original reservation specifically for the experience/service and larger space. We were in town to visit a family member at Ft. Moore and I'd caution other military affiliated guests from patronizing this business.

Horrible Stay. Unprofessional host. I wouldn't stay here again...even if it was free. I'll just hit the major points, First...even though at the time of booking it was advertised as a bed and breakfast...and our booking stated breakfast included, we received nothing. Not even coffee! I texted the owner the night before about the details for breakfast. It took her 10 hours to respond, only to tell us they aren't serving breakfast and she'd be happy to recommend restaurants and coffee shops. Second...we were only staying one day. Since we weren't being served the advertised breakfast or coffee we decided to just pack up and leave. We went to take a shower and the hot water in the shower didn't work. I messaged the owner at 9:10 am. She messaged me back at 11:52 am. Mind you, check out was at 11:00 am and we had already left the property. So beside no breakfast and no coffee we also had no shower. We were staying at the cottage across the street. The owner may say texting is not her preferred method of communication, but seriously..its 2022. We're across the street, not in the same building. If she can get a phone call she can get a text. On top of all this, the hot water and the lack of providing breakfast were all known issues to the owners. Just read the other bad reviews about it. You're now for-warned...and I'm not even telling you about the lack of cleanliness (for which we have pictures) or her insulting text messages (which are still on my phone). Can't wait for their snarky response

RPH Inn The RPH Inn was a great and comfortable stay. Mamie Pound was amazingly friendly and responsive. Daily breakfast and wine in the evening was provided. Highly recommend. Will stay again.

Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would love to be able to describe the rooms and facilities, unfortunately I never got the chance. I travel extensively and I had planned a trip to Columbus with my wife for a special occasion. We much prefer to stay at historic B&Bs for getaways like this, and the Rothschild-Pound House looked like a great choice. Most hotels were booked in town (which maybe should have been a clue as to how there was an available room here). On July 1st, I made a reservation for the 12th at which point my credit card was promptly charged the full amount. The day before I was to arrive, I received a phone message at 6:30am stating that they were having the floors redone and would be cancelling my reservation. I'm not sure how they didn't realize they'd be having the floors done that day until 24 hours beforehand and nowhere on their website or in any correspondence is there a mention of renovations. Their own policy, if I had tried to cancel my reservation, is "Cancelation must be made 14 days in advance of the check-in date. If canceled after that, a 50% credit will be offered for a future stay." I returned the call to see how they would offer to make this right on such short notice and it went straight to voicemail. 6 hours later, I received a call-back from Mamie Pound. Her advice was for me to book at another hotel in Columbus and offered to give me the phone number of the Columbus Marriot. Less than helpful, to say the least. Not even an offer of a 50% credit off of a future stay as per their own policy (not that I would ever actually consider staying here in the future). When I stated the facts back to her, she became very defensive and accused me of arguing with her. (You can see all of the other reviews on-line regarding the owner’s defensiveness.) I was in the middle of asking another question when she simply hung up on me. Extremely unprofessional, rude, and no way to build customer goodwill. As of this writing, my credit card still has not been refunded. My advice, if you are traveling to Columbus, is to book your stay elsewhere than at the Rothschild-Pound House. I was forced to.

This poor place should not be advertised. It’s run down, dirty and the owner lives in Europe. That’s why all of the reviews mention all communications are by text. The care taker is nice man but is limited in ability to get keep the place clean. Room was dusty, floors dirty, plumbing leaked. Embarrassing. Went back to Columbus this year for same mtg, we joked about not staying here again. Cannot believe Trip Advisor allows this listing. It reminds me of the Airbnb scams in London.

This was a disappointing experience, especially considering this was a special trip to see a family member in RS. The room was not ready upon check in, and the owner asked us to come back later. When we came back, we found out the room we booked was not available, and instead a small room with one bed was offered. We had been traveling all day and my phone was dead, so I made the mistake of staying. The services listed, like champagne and breakfast, are not available. Our room didn't have a functional bathroom door, and we left as soon as we could. After communicating with the owner, she told me breakfast is an additional cost.
