Wingate by Wyndham Columbia

I really only booked the room to have a place to sleep and shower for two nights, and the hotel got one of these right. The shower was a problem because, when the shower was turned on, water would gather on the ceiling and rain down. It was very unpleasant, so I skipped a shower on my second night, took a video of the problem, and shared my concern and the video with hotel staff when I checked out. Other than that, the room and common areas seemed to be mostly clean, although I cleaned things in the room that housekeeping clearly didn't get to (e.g., a sticky microwave knob). I also found the elevators intolerably hot. Yes, it was record heat outside, but I don't understand why the elevator cars weren't air conditioned like the rest of the hotel common areas. As for breakfast, it was okay for consumers of the standard American diet - I.e., high fat, high sugar - and, as a whole-food plant-based consumer, not terribly appealing. But, this is mid-America.

No a/c in room. We set thermostat and crashed (at 0100), after a very warm restless night we left at 0600. Found a/c unit wasn’t even plugged in. Seems like this should be something checked prior to assigning room. Desk staff n am just said oh well, you should have called down.

Went to Columbia for medical treatments. The room was clean, and the bathroom seemed very clean. The beds were a little soft for our taste, and the pillows were like marshmallows. Our one complaint, which, to be fair, we did not discuss with the staff. In room 101, the huge window overlooking the parking lot was nice, letting light in before bed. When we tried to sleep, the lights from the parking lots also kept our room light and bright all night. The window curtains look nice, and I felt safe that we could not be seen from the parking lot. To remedy this, please add optional room darkening to the curtains. This would be great for families with kids who are scared of the dark....

Great place to stay. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable! Nice breakfast even on a weekday! Great amenities, pool and hot tub as well as fitness room all in excellent condition!

We recently stayed at this hotel for the Louisiana/Missouri football game. The hotel staff was great, but Pravadetta was especially outstanding in the way she treated our group and with assisting with a small issue that arose unrelated to the hotel accommodations. Thanks again, Pravadetta!!!
