The bathroom in the original room overflowed, so I changed to another room. The breakfast was very good and the room was very large, suitable for family outings.

We stayed several times while our cadet was at the academy, on military rates. The rooms are large and offer full refrigerators as well as a pool, rooftop dining with spectacular views and cooked to order breakfast. Inner courtyard offers endless gathering possibilities. Best part is ability to walk to "local vibe" coffee bar, creative taco nightlife, Indian diner and further into downtown shopping and pastry shops. Nice to get away from the North End and be close airport and attractions. We used this hotel for our family graduation get together and party, in the private dining room. They did a fabulous job.

We are titanium level. Tried to check in at two. We’re told our room wasn’t ready. Came back at 345 and still not ready. We’re put in a wheelchair access room. No upgrade. No perks. We’re given ten dollars to use at the bar. Not even waters at the front desk. Really disappointing. It’s an ok hotel, probably fine if you don’t expect to be upgraded or treated well due to status.

We booked a Studio King room. The website showed pictures of this room as having a full living room area. When we arrived, we were given what the receipt said is a Studio King, but it was a basic hotel room with a king bed and no seating except a desk chair and one chair on the side (Standard King). There was no kitchen, just a small kitchenette, despite showing a full kitchen in the pictures. We were told they'd switch us to a different room but weren't able to do so the entire week we were there. The manager on duty (not the general manager) said we should have booked an Executive King room. We tried to explain that we booked a room (Studio King) based on the pictures on the website, but she kept insisting we booked incorrectly. She would not even check the website herself, to verify, and we offered to show her screen shots of the website and app, but she declined. Eventually we worked with the General Manager who acknowledged that the pictures on the website and app were both not correct. He gave us a generous refund and offered to have us book directly with him next time we're in town, also asking us to delete our original review, which we did. He also said he would work with Marriott to get the website and app corrected. It's now a month later. It does appear that the pictures on the Marriott Bonvoy app have been properly labeled. The website, however, is still showing a Studio King Guest Room as having a sofa, full kitchen, several different seating areas including what appears to be bar stools and a bench and a chair. Unfortunately, that is not what an actual Studio King Guest room at this hotel includes (unless, of course, we truly DID have a Standard King room but they billed us for a Studio King and wrote Studio King on our confirmed reservation and our receipt). The picture errors are not the fault of the hotel. How they (manager on duty) dealt with it is on them though.

We were in the downtown Element for a graduation. Everything about this hotel was pure excellence: the spacious room with a full fridge and filtered water; super clean hotel; wonderful breakfast options; beautiful courtyard; staff paying attention to peoples' needs. There are other restaurants and coffee shops nearby within walking distance. My next trip here -- we will book The Element again. Simply outstanding.

Rooms - The pictures shown on the hotel’s website, Marriott Bonvoy app, and all other booking sites are wrong (deliberately?). I have included a picture of our reservation that lists our reserved room as a "Studio King, Guest Room, 1 King" as well as pictures from their website/app that shows what a "Studio King, Guest Room, 1 King" is supposed to be. The room in the pictures on the website and the app is not the room type we were given. Our room was, according to the pictures, a "STANDARD King, Guest Room, 1 King, Sofa Bed," which is important later (although our room did not include a sofa bed at all). Our "Studio King, Guest Room, 1 King" was a king-sized bed, one chair, a desk, a microwave, a small fridge, a bedside-table sized drawer unit (in the closet) with only three drawers, and six total hangers (the three drawers and six hangers were the only options for clothing storage in the entire room - no dresser - and there was no other seating or kitchen items as shown in the pictures). Based on the pictures, this is their "Standard King Guest Room." When we asked why the bait and switch, we were told that we must have booked the wrong room type. Again, as you can see by the many pictures I am including, we booked the room type shown in the pictures provided by Marriott. You can see a screenshot of the email confirming the type of room we booked as well as pictures of what that room type was supposed to look like. We later found that these exact same pictures are shown for several different types of rooms, so guests really have no idea what type of room they are getting, because every single booking option we checked has these same, incorrect pictures listed. Let me emphasize this. The exact same pictures are listed under several different room types, so guests may not be getting the room they think they’re getting. In addition, guests may get a completely different room than is shown. Again, is this bait and switch done deliberately? Management - The woman we spoke to told us she was the manager when we asked to talk to the general manager. We later found out she was NOT the general manager. She may have been the manager on duty. That’s not who we asked for. Then, no matter how many times we tried to explain the situation, even offering to show her the actual deceptive pictures online numerous times, she said we must have chosen the wrong room. If that’s the case, so did plenty of others, according to our Lumen8 server. We had proof, via our reservation confirmation and the actual pictures still on the website as of this writing, but she refused to acknowledge any of that. This manager kept telling us we should have reserved an "Executive King Suite" not a "Studio King Room." That makes no sense. The pictures of the "Executive King Suite" and the "Studio King Bed," shown on the website and the app and on other booking sites are the EXACT SAME PICTURES, and we weren't given either of these. The kitchens, seating, etc. shown are the same for t

We asked for a high floor, room away from an elevator, and mountain view (much of this is also on our Marriott Bonvoy rewards membership profile). We booked this room six months in advance, so it shouldn’t have been hard to honor at least one of these requests. We checked in and got a second floor room across from an elevator that is facing the street. The street noise is LOUD. The room has no dresser, just an end table in the closet with three small drawers. There are no actual end tables and not even a drawer at the desk. There are six hangers in the closet. That’s it. There’s no couch or bench or sofa, just one chair. There’s a random, small table near the window with no chairs around it.

Wonderful hotel. Very clean and close to many restaurants and shops, very walkable. Rooms were clean and well designed. The breakfast in the morning was very well stocked and we appreciated the cook to order eggs, French toast and crepes. My only complaint is the street noise, I was on the 7th facing the street. A great stay!
