Courtyard Albany Airport

Like many Marriott hotels I've visited lately, the rooms are showing their age and it's disconcerting. Here are the lows: 1. Bathroom - I had to use my MacGyver/Mark Rober skills to repurpose the broken parts of the toilet paper holder so it could unfurl paper. 2. Bathroom - The shower water pressure isn't the greatest and even if you almost orient the shower head to the ceiling you'll still have water leaking on to the bathroom floor. All that water leads to rusting metal vanity supports. Lovely. 3. Living Area - The furniture surfaces look like they've experienced a kind of erosion. All the finishes have worn away. 4. Shuttle Driver AM - She doesn't seem to know anything about that airport. Here are the highs: 1. Decent common areas like the bar. We ate breakfast at the bar because there was no breakfast included. The food was good but, obviously, it wasn't cheap. 2. Shuttle Driver Early AM - The gentleman was punctual and helpful. Verdict: I wouldn't stay here again until they refurbished the hotel rooms.

I arranged for several relatives from out of state to stay at the Courtyard while they were attending a family event. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, including the excellent service, the first class workout facilities, and the breakfast. I would not hesitate to do this again.
