It was a shame that the room smelled of cigarettes because it was not a non-smoking room, but I was surprised by the location of the hotel, the view from the breakfast, and the delicious food. The hotel is very old and has a historic appearance.
The location is famous and I think any tuktuk or taxi driver would know it, but it is a little further back, so you need to be careful if you go out late at night as there are fewer people watching.
I didn't have high expectations for the breakfast because it was ¥5,000 per night, but it was a luxurious buffet style for the price, and the view of the sea was amazing. Most of the guests were Sri Lankan or Indian. I thought the seasoning of the food suited Japanese tastes. It is conveniently located in the Fort area, close to the Dutch Hospital, and there are two supermarkets within walking distance. I would like to stay here again when I come to Colombo.

Hotel is in nice location, close to Pettah market and Fort Railway station. The room was large and everything was clean and tidy. As with all the places I've stayed in Sri Lanka, the place feels very tired, and in need of maintenance and renovation.
Would recommend for a 1-2 nights stay for exploring the city.

Stayed for one night including breakfast and dinner.
Within walking distance of the station.
The facilities were old but well maintained.
The variety and taste of the breakfast and dinner buffets was average.
I wanted to use the SPA but there was no staff there.
I was surprised there were no plastic bottles in the room.
