Colombo has a problem with hotels: if you choose a cheaper one, you will either find a dive with cockroaches or something worse, and/or a favela-type area. That's why we decided not to cheap out and choose a good one. It is extremely conveniently located: 7 minutes from the bus stop from the airport, 15 minutes walk to the train station, 20 minutes to the bus station, from where we left for Annuradhapura the next day. On the way to the train stations there is a continuous market - bags, shoes, clothes, lots of food, various small items. The hotel itself is located in a decent area of the fort with banks, ministries, the remains of colonial buildings, hotels like Hilton, there is an ATM around the corner.
The room is standard, spacious, comfortable, quiet. The bed is excellent. Lots of storage space, there is a refrigerator, a kettle, water in cups (like on an airplane, not bottles), tea leaves. There is liquid soap, gel, shampoo. We did not take breakfast. Internet is closed some sites (we encountered the fact that the Internet in hotels further depends very much on the region and the operator, somewhere all our sites work, somewhere Yandex services do not work).
Cons:
The safe does not work and is not even screwed to the shelf.
Perhaps it was so "lucky" that we could not wait for the elevator on departure. We went down the stairs, it was packed with things, in the lobby there was a crowd with suitcases, we barely got out.
