The hotel staff was good and polite but reception desk is lazy and inactive. Their response to any query was very late. The room of the hotel is very small and not enough space. There was also mosquito in the room. On site restaurant is good for drinks but very limited options for food. Not a value for money stay. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Only positive thing is the gentle housekeeping staff.

Excellent location best value for money this is the lowest priced hotel in this highly business district room is big washroom is decent i found only one thing is the items in hotel are highly priced for eg, french fries 7 usd is too much in a hotel like this.

The location is ideal, situated in the heart of the city with a wide range of hotels and restaurants nearby offering delicious food. However, the standard room initially provided did not have a window, which was not mentioned on makemytrip. The hotel reception resolved the issue by replacing the non-window room with a windowed one. Overall, the stay was average"

The hotel is old and the furniture dated. We stayed for one night only, so it was bearable, but I think there are better hotels around if you are staying for longer. Outside our room was the accounting department and we could hear all the conversations from the time they arrive in the morning, not to mention a group of tourists that were loud in the lobby below and the sound carried up through the stairwell to our room. Breakfast was passable. the only plus point was it is walking distance from Dutch hospital and the One Galle Face Mall

The bathroom was clean and well-stocked with essentials, meeting all expectations for a comfortable stay. The staff at the reception were exceptionally courteous and helpful. A special mention goes to Hashini, who made the check-in process seamless and quick. Within just a few minutes of arrival, we were checked in and welcomed with a refreshing drink—a small but thoughtful touch that added to the positive experience. While the hotel doesn't offer much in terms of recreational activities or facilities, it serves its purpose well for those looking for a budget-friendly, no-frills stay in Colombo. The surrounding area is safe and sound, making it easy to explore nearby landmarks. At 10,000 LKR per night, Colombo City Hotels is definitely a value-for-money option if you’re looking for a simple and convenient place to stay in the heart of the city. I’d recommend it for travelers with basic needs who want to focus more on exploring Colombo rather than spending time inside the hotel. Overall, a pleasant and hassle-free stay!
