Hampton Inn State College

Very clean, well kept, with a newer lobby. Beds extremely comfortable, and lots of usb charging ports. Front desk helped me out by scanning a 22 page document and sending to my email. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, and a reasonable price.

We were in town for a conference, and unfortunately we chose to stay at the Hampton Inn. Boy were we sorry we had selected this hotel! Clearly this hotel is in desperate need of renovations. The reason I’ve given this hotel a 1 star rating is because of what I experienced during my stay. My room, which you see in the pictures below, contained bugs; two different kinds. One of the bugs was a stink bug, but the other was a mystery bug. These bugs, we believe, came from the air conditioning unit that seemed to be falling out of the wall, which directly connects to the outside. I called my friends over to assist me with the situation. We would take care of one bug and another would appear. My friends convinced me to call the front desk, which I did. The person on the desk came up immediately to address the matter. He witnessed the bug situation firsthand, and thankfully offered to move me to another room. Although I went from a king bed to two doubles, I was thrilled to change rooms. The new room was bug free, but also in need of renovations. The hotel did take $34.00 off the charge of my room as compensation for my awful experience. There is a small fitness room with 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical machine and another piece of cardio. They offer free earbuds, towels and a water cooler. Each of the cardio machines contains a tv so you can plug in the earbuds and watch tv during your workout. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. In the spread, there are: cereals, waffles, yogurts, breads, sweets, fresh fruit, apples, bananas, egg sandwiches and potatoes. There are also juices available. The breakfast was included in the price of the hotel. It is my understanding that this particular hotel will undergo a large renovation in the spring of 2018, and I would say this renovation is long overdue.

Great service by the front desk attendant Rory. I have been staying here monthly for a few years now and she remembers me every time I walk through the doors. She as well as the rest of the staff always makes sure that all my accommodations are met every stay.

Rory at the front desk is the most efficient and welcoming associate I have ever met, she goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and make sure your that your room is what you expected, she will always recommend restaurants that are near by and most popular. Rory will always ask about your next visit and make sure your accommodations are what you need, and does with a smile!
