Friendly efficient check in. Room was cosy warm and clean. Bathroom toiletries smelt lovely and the shower was powerful and hot. Great service in the bar and at breakfast. Full English breakfast was cooked perfectly too

Hosted 2 big birthday celebrations. Very organised, accommodating and brilliant food! Remi in particular was fantastic. Hugely recommended!

The George ligt MIDDENIN Colchester.. dat is het grootste voordeel maar ook een nadeel. Voordeel: Colchester is geweldig: de UK in een notedop- eigenlijk overbodig om de rest van het land te bezoeken. Nadeel: omdat het in een slangenkuil van eenrichtingsverkeer, busbanen en winkelstraten ligt is het een uitdaging om er te komen, er moeten online formulieren ingevuld worden voordat je er onbeboet weg kan komen en de parkeerautomaat kan alleen door een expert bediend worden. Eenmaal aangekomen is de voldoening groot: fijne kamer, douche, perfect personeel, 14e eeuwse muren, full english breakfast and an atmosphere as King George would like it.

Lovely experience! I organised a hen afternoon tea for my friend and it was effortless from beginning to end. Remi the events manager made it so easy for me to organise and when we arrived everything was set up perfectly. The service was so professional and we all had a wonderful time., Thanks to all the staff!

The hotel itself and the staff were fine..BUT THE NOISE AT NIGHT in our rooms in St Nicholas was absolutely unbearable The rooms overlooked a nightclub which boomed and played very very loud music from 2000 to 0230 the following morning, then there was shouting from people leaving the club. There was no sound proofing in our rooms, and the music was played loudly outside the club. Our two rooms included two very young children, one a baby and a pensioner, and we were told that the hotel was full and we could not be moved. We had very long journeys the next day on no sleep after three nights.
