We had originally planned to be in Norwich however had to change our plans at short notice. My husband emailed the owners of Dedham Hall and we were so glad to get a reservation for 3 days before our next stop in London. Dedham Hall is a lovely old house set on several acres of beautiful gardens. It is picturesque and a perfect setting for an art studio. (The owners also run art classes). The room was large with an attached bathroom and shower. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was hearty and the owners spare no efforts in making the guests happy. We were even able to buy a jar of their wonderful marmalade! Dedham Hall is a stone’s throw from the river as well as a Michelin star recommended pub. We highly recommend Dedham Hall and hopefully we will be able to stay there again in the future.

We took some friends for night away in Dedham. Jim and Wendy were lovely as always, the Hall is so quiet and comfortable and the food is excellent and great value. Peaceful walk down to the river in the morning, for a coffee at Flatford Mill and a ride on the Stour Trust electric boat - great way to work up a thirst on a hot summer day! We will definitely be back. Many Thanks David and Jo Woods

Ordered the roast beef today and after an hour wait it came. Roast potatoes looked and tasted like they had been frozen and put through the deep fat fryer. Tasted dry and really hard. Two small slices of beef on salty packet mix gravy. Yorkshires were dry and too crispy. The staff weren’t as attentive as previous visits and could have made more of an effort to ask us if we wanted more drinks. All in all a very disappointing visit but at least the crumble was nice.

Lovely room - it was well equipped and great location. Disappointed with the customer service - did not feel valued as guests - from a perfunctory Manager to bar staff that did not even look up from washing glasses whilst waiting at the bar. This is down to training and never went beyond the minimum customer service. Shame as the room was excellent but customer service let it down.

An historical pub but our experience was nothing special. The service was nothing to shout about. When we arrived and stood at the bar we were ignored by the person loading the dishwasher as if I was invisible. Only one of our two starters arrived and I had to go and remind then we were missing a starter. It took about 45 minutes for our mains to arrived and they had not cleared the starters away. The food was Ok but not the level I would expect from a non chain pub and was not cheap. In summary I would not return which is a shame as nice looking pub in a lovely village.
