This hotel doesn't even deserve a 1 star. I spent less money on this hotel, so I knew that I would be sacrificing something. The hotel exterior is nice, so I had high hopes at check in. At daylight, I realized that the flowerbeds were badly overgrown and unkept. For context, we stayed here 7 nights. The Pros: They had air, water, electricity, and a bed. The Cons: The room was probably from the mid 1980s, right down to the hunter green carpet, and to the stains. The room was very dated. I don't mind dated, if it is clean. This room, no matter how you define clean, was not. The microwave had someone else's dinner splattered on the inside, and the fridge was not clean either. The bathroom was not clean. The shower curtain smelled of mildew. The wall of the shower had a grimy handprint, and the mirror on the bathroom door had a child's handprint. The toilet was disgusting. Don't know the last time the toilet bowl was cleaned. The tile on the floor in front of the toilet was broken in so many places, it was sharp. One piece came dislodged to our foot; it is a wonder that we didn't cut our feet. We never knew day to day if the room was going to be vacuumed, if we were going to get towels or if they were going to make the bed. (special note: we never put out the "Do not disturb" sign.) Some days we did get the bed made and towels, and some days we didn't. We chose not to complain about it. By the third day, we came back to the room at the end of the day, and the door wasn't even closed, and was being kept open by the swing lock. Apparently, our room had been open all day. That was the last straw, so we went to the front desk. The only thing that they were surprised about was the door being open. The rest of the stay, the microwave never got cleaned, the fridge never got cleaned. I think our bed was made only once, and that cover was dirty. Never did sleep under it. The pillows were so old and flat, that they were folding them in half and pillowcase wrapped to be square shaped cubes. I think during our stay, our room was vacuumed once. Some days we got coffee and soap, and some days we didn't. One day we came back to find no towels, no coffee, and the used paper cups to brush our teeth/ coffee were still sitting out. No trash had been taken. The breakfast was interesting. If you got there early, they put out a small amount of eggs and sausage. When it is gone, it is gone. Otherwise, you had the choice of bread, butter, and a waffle iron that was questionable as to the last time it was cleaned. One morning we came out to the parking lot to see 3 local police officers and their cars in the lot. Still don't know what they were doing. This hotel is in a residential neighborhood-- a decent neighborhood, not in a part of the city where the rest of the hotels are. When I checked out on the last day, I asked for a paper receipt so I could see if there were any charges that needed to be disputed. I handed them my key cards and told them the room number.

Staff are helpful and friendly. Our room was ok but very dark. But it did feel a bit like an old people’s retirement home. Easy to get to from the Interstate and town centre. Good places to eat nearby. Breakfast was ok, but very basic and not very sustainably focussed with disposable plates and cutlery.

The room and hotel are clean and in good condition. We had a refrigerator, a good bed, and lots of room. Breakfast was better than average. Eggs and sausage. It is a nice area near the lake and several nice places to eat nearby (which staff suggested) The * moon had creative dishes and pub food and good microbrews. Staff we excellent

The room was filthy, the overall appearance of the motel is rundown with much deferred maintenance. The price was extremely high.

The value was good for the location but I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness especially in the bathroom area. Room & grounds were average in this regard or maybe slightly above average.

Nice room HOWEVER, I was charged TWICE, both times was for $96.12. On 2-3-18 the charge is to Baymont Hotel CDA, ID. And on 2-4-18 the charge is to Baymont Inn & Suites CDA, ID. I only stayed there ONE night but got charged twice. I confirmed the charges with my bank prior to calling the hotel. When I did contact the hotel I spoke with Mr. Miller (mgr.) and he was only showing I was charged once, which is NOT correct. He said he would call me back but NEVER did. He was not helpful or polite, and basically called me a liar when I spoke to him about the double charges. I even told him I would email him a screenshot of the charges if he'd provide me with an email address but he never would provide an email address. So I had to contact my bank to dispute the 2nd charge. (The next night I was in Montana so it would be impossible for me to stay there on the 4th) On top of that I was not impressed with your staff either. Both front desk clerks didn’t know a thing about CDA since they just moved to the area. It is THEIR job to know the town so they can assist guests. If the are new then they need to learn real quick - just saying I don’t know isn’t helpful plus it reflects badly on the hotel and its brand. OH their HOT breakfast is a self made waffle. I wouldn't even say they served a continental breakfast. Tip: Michael D's offers a GREAT breakfast.

I just finished reading all the reviews from current to years past and have concluded that the same issues we experienced have persisted for many years with no change. It appears that Wyndham doesn’t care and hasn’t taken any steps to correct the situation in Couer d’Alene. We were there for a destination wedding and the bride and groom suggested the hotel - after staying there it is clear that they never set foot inside a room. The nicest thing about the hotel were the flowers hanging at the entrance - the rest of the grounds were full of **** and not cared for. Our first surprise was no elevator and we were assigned a second floor room with no option for a main floor room (the desk clerk did offer to help with our luggage). Our room was filthy and in disrepair: shower, non-functional coffee machine, holes in the door…. It only got worse. Six nights and our room was never cleaned though they did bring fresh towels each day the sheets were never changed. No cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming or changing the sheets. When we checked out we told the clerk what was going on and he yelled at us very loudly and called us liars. Showed us a sheet with three sheet changes were checked. I know the sheets weren’t changed because I scratched a mosquito bite the first night and it bled onto the sheet a bit and the blood was still there the morning we checked out. One other funny thing the message light was blinking on our in-room phone. We asked for it to be turned off several times and were finally told that no one knows how to turn it off. Each evening the staff (I believe) sat in the stairway landing talking on their mobiles so we had to excuse ourselves to get out; others were standing by the outside door smoking. The morning I left I was dragging my suitcase downstairs - bump, bump, bump because I couldn’t lift it - and the two stairway landing sitters just watched. There are better choices in Couer d’Alene, don’t waste your money and get yelled at by the desk clerk.
