This hotel doesn't even deserve a 1 star. I spent less money on this hotel, so I knew that I would be sacrificing something. The hotel exterior is nice, so I had high hopes at check in. At daylight, I realized that the flowerbeds were badly overgrown and unkept. For context, we stayed here 7 nights. The Pros: They had air, water, electricity, and a bed. The Cons: The room was probably from the mid 1980s, right down to the hunter green carpet, and to the stains. The room was very dated. I don't mind dated, if it is clean. This room, no matter how you define clean, was not. The microwave had someone else's dinner splattered on the inside, and the fridge was not clean either. The bathroom was not clean. The shower curtain smelled of mildew. The wall of the shower had a grimy handprint, and the mirror on the bathroom door had a child's handprint. The toilet was disgusting. Don't know the last time the toilet bowl was cleaned. The tile on the floor in front of the toilet was broken in so many places, it was sharp. One piece came dislodged to our foot; it is a wonder that we didn't cut our feet. We never knew day to day if the room was going to be vacuumed, if we were going to get towels or if they were going to make the bed. (special note: we never put out the "Do not disturb" sign.) Some days we did get the bed made and towels, and some days we didn't. We chose not to complain about it. By the third day, we came back to the room at the end of the day, and the door wasn't even closed, and was being kept open by the swing lock. Apparently, our room had been open all day. That was the last straw, so we went to the front desk. The only thing that they were surprised about was the door being open. The rest of the stay, the microwave never got cleaned, the fridge never got cleaned. I think our bed was made only once, and that cover was dirty. Never did sleep under it. The pillows were so old and flat, that they were folding them in half and pillowcase wrapped to be square shaped cubes. I think during our stay, our room was vacuumed once. Some days we got coffee and soap, and some days we didn't. One day we came back to find no towels, no coffee, and the used paper cups to brush our teeth/ coffee were still sitting out. No trash had been taken. The breakfast was interesting. If you got there early, they put out a small amount of eggs and sausage. When it is gone, it is gone. Otherwise, you had the choice of bread, butter, and a waffle iron that was questionable as to the last time it was cleaned. One morning we came out to the parking lot to see 3 local police officers and their cars in the lot. Still don't know what they were doing. This hotel is in a residential neighborhood-- a decent neighborhood, not in a part of the city where the rest of the hotels are. When I checked out on the last day, I asked for a paper receipt so I could see if there were any charges that needed to be disputed. I handed them my key cards and told them the room number.
