We needed a conveniently-located hotel for one day and night. This WAS the most convenient in terms of location. That was the only positive thing about our stay. The hotel reception is not manned and you have to go the bar to check in. The entrance to the rooms stinks of urine/ammonia. Really bad! This area is dirty, dingy and unwelcoming. The room itself is appalling; Scuffed, poorly-decorated, curtains hanging off the rail and generally of a very poor standard. The bathroom fixtures and fittings were shockingly bad. Absolutely nothing to like at this hotel.

We had an overnight stay here 25th June and it was probably the worst stay we’ve had in a hotel. There was no one on reception and we tried phoning the number on the desk but it was an answering service and no one responded. We went to the restaurant and a lovely member of staff came and we were given our key and told it was room number 2. The room although clean was stinking of a musty/mouldy stale smell and the decor was pretty appalling with broken blind and mould on the ceilings and flaking paintwork, the bedside lamp was a joke, there was a leaky guttering that kept us up most of our short stay, not ideal when you have to be up at 3.30am for the airport, this was a waste of £63, the owners should be ashamed to let these rooms out.

Upon arriving the staff were kind and courteous while checking in. I arrived at my room which overlooked a roof leading to the back of the hotel which was covered in cigarette ends and litter. My room was poorly lit and was covered in damage and mould in the bathroom. It looked like it was last attended to 20 years ago. I had to have a towel wash as the shower was filthy. I then went for food which was nice but the staff had changed from my arrival and later on when the bar was quieter it was barely possible to get any service due to the 3 younger members of staff constantly looking at videos together on their phones and generally just not bothered about us. We ended up just leaving our drinks and going to bed. Pretty poor to be honest.

Great place to stop on my way right up North, Easy check in friendly helpfully staff Clean rooms with every thing you need, Good Wifi, Lots Parking, Lots hot water Single rooms are small but perfectly fine your sleeping in it not having a party. Hungree Horse next door food was fine nice and tasty and did t he job ... Over all good value
