I stayed at the Grand Hotel Napoca for 3 days as part of a larger delegation that arranged our accommodation there. Despite being an old hotel, it has been well renovated; the lobby, hall, restaurant, and bar all look new. The room was spacious, partially renovated, but comfortable and clean. The biggest issue was the level of service provided by the hotel staff. Upon entering the hotel, you are not greeted at reception, and the breakfast in the restaurant is very basic. Out of 4 waitstaff, only one young waitress made an effort to be attentive. The other old-school waiters do not speak English and communicate through gestures, which is quite uncomfortable. They do not but rather maintain the buffet and clean tables after guests finish. Nobody tries to bring you coffee or assist you when you ask for something. For example, when I requested hot water for my muesli, the waiter pointed to a thermos that had been sitting there for 2 hours, and the water was no longer hot. When I mentioned that to the waiter, he directed me to the coffee machine to wait in line and pour hot water myself. There is no option to have an omelet eggs made to order; breakfast choices are quite limited, with only bananas apples available. The coffee from the machine tastes terrible, so after breakfast, we decided to sit in the hotel lobby and order coffee from the bar. I received an Americano smaller than the cappuccino my husband was drinking and asked bartender to pour it into a larger cup with a bit more water because I prefer my Americano more diluted. He reacted aggressively, gave me a plastic takeaway cup to pour it myself, did not respond when I thanked him, and then started banging metal dishes loudly and expressing anger about my request. Then, a supervisor by speaking Romanian, and the supervisor kept saying calm down, calm down. Finally, a problem arose with the air conditioning, which stopped working on the last day before our departure. It even felt like the AC was heating the room to 30 degrees! We asked the housekeeper, who said another room had a malfunction, and since the ACs are connected, the entire horizontal line was not functioning. I would not stay at this hotel if it were not booked organized. The staff need serious training because, unfortunately, all the good and comfortable aspects (such as free and very convenient parking in front) are overshadowed by the subpar service of the employees who do not seem happy to serve guests.

A fantastic stay for a business delegation trip. The staff was always super kind to us and all the services excellent. My room was super clean and had all the comforts you must have during a business trip. The Breakfast offered always a really good choice and was delicious. Thank you all!!

Hotel 4etoil is well-equipped and the service is correct. I had a plane at 19.40. I asked if I could stay until 5 pm and they happily accepted it.

I've stayed well over 1,000 nights in Marriott hotels over the last 20 years & my stay at the Cluj Courtyard was by far the worst experience I have had! We arrived in the hotel pretty late at around 7pm, had a shower & went straight out for dinner, I set the air con to 18deg's before we left as the room was very hot when we arrived. To note there were no instructions on the air con, it was a case of 'trial & error' with the control panel We arrived back at the room at around 10.30pm & the room temperature was showing 25.5deg's 🥵 so I rang to reception to ask what was wrong. I was told that a few adjustments had been made and the room temperature should start to drop so we went to bed. After a couple of hours at around midnight we had to get out of bed as the temperature was just too hot to sleep, it was still showing 25deg's! I was told that the air conditioning must be faulty and there was little that could be done. No fans were available. We did eventually get offered a room across the corridor which he told me would be cooler temperature so I said we would take it just to sleep in. When entering the room across the corridor it was 24deg's but had again been set to 18deg's but we were assured the temperature would drop quickly. We had a cold shower & got into bed although the new room was still very hot. We had a miserable nights sleep with the room being still 23deg's when we left in the morning (it had ran all night set at 18deg's) We had to go back to our original room to pack which was still at 25deg's. The outside temperature that night was 19deg's so both rooms, with the air con on full, were still considerably warmer than the outside temperature! We only really used the hotel to shower & sleep but our experience was terrible & the actual hotel I believe is as good as brand new having only opened a few months ago. The most disappointing thing however is that I have had no communication from the hotel at all since we left. Yes sometimes things go wrong, very, very occasionally things go wrong twice but when as a hotel you know your customers have had an absolutely miserable nights sleep with a combination of multiple phone calls, moving rooms in the middle of the night & little if any actual sleep and you don't even have the decency to apologise makes a terrible stay absolutely shocking! As above, I have spent over 1,000 nights of my life in Marriot hotels and this stay was by far the worst from the one thing that as a hotel you have to get right ie affording your clients a great nights sleep!

I've booked this hotel for the second time, and I'm not disappointed. It's close to the city centre, it's fine and it's abundant... cleaning agents are good... they're paying attention to the environment... the whole building is clean and I can charge my electric car.

Amazing hotel. Short walk from the center of Cluj, service was excellent. They gave us an upgrade to a huge room, which was beautiful and had funky lights with everything controlled from a tablet. Them breakfast. Wow, possibly the best hotel breakfast I have had. Amazing buffet, even better a la Carte. Only there one night, wish it had been longer.

Hands down one of the best hotel stays I have experienced. We stayed 3 weeks and initially I was concerned it would be too long, but I didn't want to leave. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Beautiful view from the balcony. Location was close to City Center, a few minutes with an Uber or Bolt. The breakfast was good and enough variety. The staff in the restaurant was attentive and professional. The staff at the pool and pool bar was great. The pool itself was big enough and even on busy days not overly crowded. Great for swimming laps when not busy (usually mornings). The front desk staff was helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to going back next year

One night (Monday) at Hotel Paradis Cluj Pros: - Clean beds linens and bathroom - Helpful staff in room reservation and calling a cab - Quiet room on third floor even on the street side - Mini fridge in the room with water, beer, carbonated juices etc. - Buffet with tasty breakfast food at restaurant Cons: - Shower above the tub doesn’t have walls and/or curtain - The tub handle for lifting help was loose on the wall and falls when pull it - Open hatch door in the ceiling for pipes visitation, remaining open from a maintenance intervention (I am assuming) - Definitely not 4 stars hotel - Old building with a specific smell - Overpriced hotel compared to the conditions: $98.55 per one night - Not the best color chosen for furniture as they look dirty - The fabric on the bed head with dirty head marks - The wi-fi password was not provided at check in - Breakfast not included in the price and is paid extra - At the breakfast time between 7:00 and 8:00 a long line occurs due to the slow coffee machine.

You can find cheaper options in the city, but if you need an equipped (almost everything, except the dishwasher) apartment, with a kitchenette, plus a nice balcony with a beautiful view, in a good area of ​​the city, it is strongly recommended to choose this apartment hotel. First of all, unlike many other aparthotels in Cluj, there's the reception working up to 10 PM which is very convenient if you need to ask something important for you, or need any other assistance (anyway, after you get an explanation of how easily enter and leave the apartment, and the building, by using a code, and if everything is good, no real necessity in interaction with the reception). Daily changing towels, taking out the trash, etc', location is great for this city (it looks not scary to walk around that neighborhood even late at night). The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from a side entrance to Iulius Mall. In this big and modern mall there is also a big Aushan supermarket, a big selection of fast food chains, Starbucks and local caffe, etc' for almost every taste. You can also take a walk in the park around the lake and near the mall and the hotel. Taxis with affordable prices in Cluj, especially when you use apps and not catch on the street. Bolt is a bit cheaper than Uber. For example, the trip to airport from the hotel was ~ 30 romanian lei (about 6 euro).

This was a great pick to stay. It was a bit far to walk to the centre but a taxi was 10 minutes and cost nothing. It has free onsite parking if you hire a car. You can walk to the centre, just takes 40 minutes or a bus stop is 5 minutes away. The room was a great size and it was really clean. Everything was new in the room. There wasn’t much to do in the hotel, an eating/drinking area is the most you’ll get but it’s a city break so you don’t need anything else. I’d definitely stay again. Staff spoke really good English and were really friendly. Good value for sure
