Fairfield Inn & Suites Clovis

Excellent all around except that breakfast was kind of scanty.

We have stayed at a Marriott property before and it was a bad experience. We thought we would try a Marriott again, and we regret it! After driving all day we were tired. We could not sleep because the room they gave us had the darkening shades missing. So only curtains. Between there bright sign and the well lit parking long, it was like daylight in the room at 1 am. After not sleeping, the shampoo is completely out. Never again…back to only stays at Hilton properties. You definitely get what you pay for.

It was my sons sr yr prom. He choose to stay at Fairfield in Clovis, Nm. We called day before to assure that the juccuzzi and pool would be working they said yes it was. We check in with the rate i was quoted on internet which ended up being 20.00 more making it $180.00. Which is ridiculous but we paid it. Got situated in room went down to use juccuzzi and gate is locked because pool and juccuzzi ARE NOT working. We to front desk attendent was sitting on her boyfriends lap laughing, i then went to room to change came bk down she was no where to be found for good 20 min. Then breakfast was eggs cereal and sausage no juices available. I beleive that we should be reimbursed for our stay. 180.00 for a standard king room and no juccuzzi or pool and a half ass breakfast it unsatisfactory.

The hotel was very accommodating to our reunion of Seven friends who grew up in Clovis. We spent a lot of time catching up in the common areas and in the rooms.

We made this two-evening reservation through Trip Advisor which may have been our first mistake. At any rate, we checked in at about 4:00 in the afternoon, then because my wife became ill, checked out at 10:00 that evening. Upon checking out, I told the desk clerk the situation and she said she would take care of it, but it would not be posted until the following morning. This did not happen and when the bill came, it was for the full two night stay we had originally planned on. I called the hotel and the clerk on duty said she could not help, but I could talk to the manager. The manager was exceptionally arrogant and rude and insisted that she could do nothing and I should deal with ******* (the company that I was routed to through Trip Advisor). I told her repeatedly that this was not a reservation issue, it was simply an error in recording our check-out time. She would not listen and became hostile. The conversation abruptly ended when she said she was terminating the call. The rooms were nice and the hotel was clean and cheery. However, the heater was not working in our room, so we were moved to a different room where the TV was not working. I did take a shower and it appeared that the hot water heater wasn't working well, either because the water was tepid. All of this was somewhat irrelevant because we were only there about six hours. This hotel has serious management issues that should be addressed by the Marriott people.

Room on first floor had no privacy, looking right out to sidewalk. The only choice was to use blackout curtains, which allowed no natural light during the daytime. Would definitely request upstairs room next to E.
