We stayed in the lodge- main hotel was closed as it was off season (early April). Very comfortable and close to Clifden, easy drive up to Ballyconneely, Sky road loop and Kylemore Abbey. Friendly check in, felt extremely safe. Highly recommended for families or couples traveling together.

We stayed in the 3 bed self catering accommodation. The house is very comfortable with all the amenities you need. Towels and linens were lovely and plenty of hot water for showers. Beautiful setting and views. The living room due to the layout is hard to heat despite the central heating and you needed to light the fire but fuel was provided for this. We were a family with adult children so the set up suited us very well

Being able to return from a day on the windswept rainy coast to a warm fire and a glass of wine and being able to sit in the early morning in the cactus filled sun lounge looking out at the water made this a magical and welcoming place to stay.

Both good and bad The hotel itself was beautiful and the food was nice in the restaurant. But when the staff had done some mix ups they couldn’t even say sorry and try and make it up which was very odd and unfortunately made our experience less enjoyable. They did not have conditioner in the rooms for the hair which was very weird for trying to be a more high end hotel.

I just wanted to put a quick comment here about the high level of customer service provided by Serge Bauvet from The Ardagh Hotel! We are travelling to Ireland next June (2025) from Australia. 14 individual nights on a loop! I had accidentally made a typo mistake whilst doing a booking, via a 3rd party agency, for our stay. It was a “non-refundable” booking & the incorrect date could have caused massive complications to our Ireland self-drive tour! The 3rd party staff were finding it difficult to find a solution so I contacted the hotel directly (1st by phone, then email). Serge was so professional, understanding and quick to act. His correspondence from Ireland (me in Australia) was immediate on all occasions (big time difference) and he took responsibility to oversee my issue! In simple terms he was a breath of professional fresh air!! I look fwd to saying Thankyou to him in person! If he represents the quality of the Hotel and their customer care I can highly recommend The Ardagh Hotel & Restaurant as a “must stay”, Connemara location, on the Wild Atlantic Way at Clifden! “Top of the mornin’ to you” Serge!!
