The first time was six years ago, the service quality was very good, so it was my first choice when I came to Ireland after the new crown. Unfortunately, the whole feeling this time was far from the first time, and I was quite disappointed☹️… First of all, the wireless network in the room was often interrupted or there was no signal. I called the front desk and the reply we got was that the signal was not good in the countryside. Now that technology is so advanced, such a reason is really far-fetched. Secondly, there was no drinking water in the room. I asked the waiter to bring water, but the waiter asked us to get it ourselves. Is this the service that a star-rated hotel should have? I understand that the store uses handwritten menus to show their high-end, but the font of the entire menu is very difficult to read. It is so dense that people feel dizzy. It is not the kind of comfortable and clear font and layout. Since it is a castle hotel, people should be able to walk around. It was possible six years ago, but now many places are surrounded by gates. It is impossible to walk around.

Loved it! The room was great. The castle was nicely done. The staff was fantastic but the highlight was the pre dinner history chat with Prosecco by one of the owners. Clearly enjoyed sharing his family’s history and a great storyteller. Very nicely done. Also the take home photos for each guest at the event was a nice touch. Food was great. Service was attentive. Very lovely extra touches. Would definitely return!

We stayed here for our visit to the Clifden area. What a treat! Our room was spacious and clean with comfy beds. I even enjoyed a nice bath in the clawfoot tub. Breakfast included freshly squeezed orange juice. We loved the Clifden area and if we’re back one day, I will definitely book a room at the Quay House.

My sister and I stayed at the Abbeyglenn in September. Our Magical stay was part of a whirlwind adventure through Ireland. The grounds, the castle and the views were stunning. Our room was spacious and inviting. The food was excellent and the staff was warm and friendly. Ronan and his brother Brian do and Grand job of making you feel right at home. We loved this area and will be returning . We will definitely stay at the Abbeyglenn when we return to the Emerald Isle.

We had a great weekend here despite poor weather initially. There was a great vibe in the hotel with great craic, beautiful food and the hotel is close to bars and restaurants in the town of Clifden. The bedrooms are spacious and elegant with spectacular views. Highly recommend a stay here.

This is a beautiful estate and castle. I can't get over our stay here. The rooms were very clean and warm. The staff was lovely. One of the few Irish hotels where they did make you feel like you were friends. The entire place is just filled with beauty. They have a reception every evening with champagne where the owner talks about the local history. Later on in the night there is live music at the bar. The atmosphere is so welcoming and they do everything to make you feel at home. So many nice touches and extras, the abbeyglenn is a must stay. The only problem is you will be so sad when you leave.

While setting up our tour with Overland Ireland, we did our research and knew we wanted to stay at Abbeyglen Castle. They made the arrangements and we were able to stay for one night in an authentic castle. These accommodations were above and beyond our expectations. Once we checked into our beautiful rooms, everyone is invited to the bar area where piano music is being played and glasses of prosecco were served. While enjoying the prosecco, our picture was taken and then handed to us during dinner as a memento. One of the owners gave a nice history of the area and the castle. The food and service were impeccable. When the main dish is service the clothe is removed simultaneously off each plate, what an elegant touch. They also put the flag of your home country on your table. It was fun to see where everyone was from and made you feel connected. This should be a MUST if you can arrange it.
