Liberty Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

The Liberty Hotel is an older hotel located in the old downtown Cleburne just a block away from the court house on the square. Although it still has the look and charm of a very upscale victorian hotel it has been updated with newer features. The breakfast is your typical waffles, cereal, bagels, etc. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms are the same with plenty of towels, soap and other toiletries. There usually are at least two complimentary bottles of water and a big, soft robe to sit back and relax. I absolutely love this hotel. My husband and I go there to just get away from the house. Not only is it close to antique shops, unique eating places, entertainment venues it is only 25 minutes away from the Brazos River and other interesting places. Whether it's for business or pleasure The Liberty Hotel is the place to stay when you're in Cleburne, Texas.

Nice room and hotel.

We were put in a room with dirty sheets. I called the attendant to come change the sheets and before she could get there the toilet overflowed. She was going to Put us in a different room so before I moved my stuff I went to the second room and those sheets were dirty too. I asked for a refund and left without staying.

Worst experience ever. I have been there several times and now it’s under new management. I won’t go back. The sheets weren’t changed from the last guest. They moved us to a new room and those sheets were dirty also. We left and they aren’t wanting to give us a refund after they said they would. The sheets had blood and other fluids on it. It had a lot of history to this hotel. Renovated beautifully and added such thoughtful amenities. A wonderful stay and would definitely stay again.

Absolutely an amazing property!

Oh my goodness, I can't wait to tell you about the most amazing hotel my husband and I stumbled upon last night! It was already pretty late - around 10:40 pm - and we were worried about finding a decent hotel where we were headed. But we lucked out and found the most incredible property that surpassed all of our expectations! Despite the property information saying there was no front desk, we were warmly welcomed well past midnight and shown to the most stunning lobby. Seriously, the interior was like stepping into a time capsule. The vintage furniture and decor were so authentic that you felt like you had traveled back in time. And our room was the absolute cherry on top of this amazing experience. The king suite was beyond perfect. There was no musty hotel smell, the AC unit actually worked and cooled the suite, and the plush carpet was so clean that you could walk around barefoot without any icky residue sticking to your feet. It was like stepping into our own luxurious bedroom! And let's not forget the bed - it was so comfortable and cozy that we almost didn't want to get out of it. The breakfast wasn't the best, but who cares when you're in a hotel that is this amazing? We even had a Texas waffle, and it was delicious. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic experience and we can't wait to do it all over again the next time we're in town!
