這家民宿外面有個大草坪，感覺原主人高低得是個莊園主。房間不大，但四通八達，一樓有餐廳。離湖區大概45分鐘車程，要開很久山路才能走。但這價格也就衹能這樣了。

Shocking experience!
Firstly the trip booked stated 2 breakfast plus 2 evening meals , this was not the case with the hotel stating it was bed and breakfast only, I would have paid the lower rate if I knew this !
The room was then absolutely filthy and had a mattress at least 5 years past its best , solution to this was a mattress topper that really didn't help...
The walls are paper thin and the noise from above was just ridiculous, sounded like a clog dancing contest ..
Worst bit of the whole stay was the bathroom , you needed a shower after leaving the room never mind as you were in there , the floor tiles were all smashed and sharp and the grout was just black ( lifted the shower mat from the floor after taking a shower and it was filthy ) there was mold all over the skirting board and the shower didn't work correctly ( I have a video to show )
The room ( room 30 ) needs taking apart and starting again ... nobody should be allowed to stay in there )
I will be contacting the hotel separately and I believe a full or partial refund should be offered !

I unfortunately don't drive so had a bit of a hike i.e. walk to the hotel, if I had knowledge of local taxi firm I could've been faster.

I think we are a discerning couple in our 50s who have travelled enough to give an objective review Yes I can understand other guests criticising the decor etc but that’s superficial The staff . . Particularly Rachael and another lady whose children we met are all fantastic. The staff clearly enjoy working together and provide a homely welcoming atmosphere The menu choice is extensive and the quality of food would give any good restaurant a run for their money We would stay here again in a heart beat Other guests have been great company and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Worth going to for the bizarre Soviet style decoration alone! Vast gardens, woefully underused (just two tables!), with random sculptures. High-ceilinged dining room with table cloths and a whispering level of conversation. An evening menu with no vegetarian mains (VERY Soviet). Bedroom was comfy and spacious, equally strangely furnished. Staff are a mixture of super engaged and super the opposite (when we mentioned to one we were doing the Coast to Coast walk, she asked for our vehicle registration!! :) Overall, fascinating.

Feels Like a Home from Home I’ve been staying at this hotel for the past 10 weeks, and I genuinely can’t recommend it enough. From day one, the staff have been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is just right. The food is fantastic – always fresh, tasty, and satisfying. If you ever fancy something a bit different, the team are more than happy to accommodate. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, which adds to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It really does feel like a home away from home. Whether it’s for a short break or a longer stay, this place is well worth a visit!

Regular stay for me whilst working in the area, average around 8 trips per year for 4 nights at time. Always look forward to my visits as I look at it as a home from home. All of the staff are welcoming, cheery and considered friends which makes working away alone much more bearable. In its day, this would have been the grandest of buildings and it still retains its charm despite some weathering. Lovely grounds and location, used by many a C2C walker. Food quality is good in my experience and breakfast options have expanded recently, Looking forward to my next visit. Thanks team
