Pleasant hotel, good breakfast, helpful staff. The neighborhood is lovely and safe for walking. Walking distance to many good restaurants. Breakfast was hot, even if not too tasty. Room comfy on hot days. Air conditioning worked well. Parking pricey at $14/day.

Everything dirty and grimy. Rooms smells a horrible combination of bo, sour and sewage. Absolutely gross. Not worth the money - I've stayed at nicer Best Westerns. Not up at all up to Hampton Inn standards. Clayton is such a cute town, embarrassed at how dumpy this hotel is.

Always stay with Hampton, never had a problem with room cleanliness before this trip. My husband and myself had to request housekeeping come and clean the mass of hair scattered all around the bathroom floor and shower, as well as dried noodles off the desk and tv stand. We were met by the maintenance guy at our door and he handed us a small pack of Lysol wipes. The next day housekeeping didn’t touch our room and we had to go down to the front desk to get towels, toilet paper, and trash bags to clean our own room-again.

The location is convenient, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the second floor room was extremely noisy. There is an indoor pool off of the second floor, and guests (and kids) run down the hallway towards it in excitement. People coming in late at night use the stairs and wander down the hallway towards the elevator, and they are loud. The water pressure in the hotel shower is terrible/non existent. It took me forever to rinse off, and it is not a positive experience.

Exactly what you expect from a Hampton Inn. Good value for the area. Clean, well maintained property. Room was fine for our two night stay. Well appointed bathroom with plenty of space to put toiletries, room itself had lots of ports/ outlets for charging electronics. Very friendly staff. Well lit garage. Breakfast was basic, but it was fine. Would stay there again.

I made the reservation and paid for the room at that time. Checked in with my reservation and was told of an additional parking charge. I told the desk clerk I was a AARP member because the hotel advertises free parking for AARP members. By the way, there is ample free parking on the street in front of the hotel. Hotel was newer, and clean. Later I saw the hotel had billed me for my room again for the second time plus a parking fee. I then verified that the room was already paid for when I made the reservation and called the hotel. The hotel refused to refund the parking fee and said they would refund the second charge for the hotel room. Instead the hotel charged me again for the third time for the hotel room and parking and then reversed the charges for the third time charges. I called Hilton Honors who promised I would be contacted within three days. One week later, still no one contacted me. I saw that my credit card was credited for the second hotel room charge but still no credit for the parking fee. I have now spent more time cleaning up their mess than I spent in the hotel.

This property sets the standard! Everybody I interacted with was friendly, helpful and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better team. The location is convenient and quiet. The hotel/rooms were spotless. I will stay here again - it's a hidden gem.
