Stayed here for one night while heading up the coast. This McMenamin’s property is all about the golf. Even so, as non golfers we had a great time. The back lawn featured a lot of tables and seating, food and beverage service and lawn games/fire pits. We ate at the upstairs restaurant which was standard McMenamin’s fare. Kyle at the downstairs bar was pulling double duty serving beverages while also stoking fires in the fire pits. We appreciated his service. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom shower was most excellent. Desk staff and all the employees we encountered were friendly and professional. The beach was further than I expected and there wasn’t much once you left the property but it was a nice change up from Seaside and I would definitely stay here again.

Great staff made this trip enjoyable and fun filled. Will return soon!!! Kudos to the front desk staff, Pub bartenders, Sand Trap and shuttle service. A truly wonderful stay.

The hotel was nice and the fire pits and outside seating was great. I misunderstood “by the sea”. I thought we could have seen the water. But did have a nice view of the golf course. Room was very nice, warm and decorated very cute. I would stay again.

We love visiting McMenamins Gearhart - we choose this location for our birthday celebrations over the years and friends and family are now joining us again and again. The dream of rolling out of bed, down to the restaurant and on to the beautiful golf course has come to life! We rarely leave the property since we can get a variety of food options for any meal. I am especially happy about the newly added oyster shooters and the salad options are great. The food is delicious! We have come to really appreciate some familiar faces that really make the stay special! Bobby at the front desk - she has a great team that focuses on making us feel warm and welcome when we arrive as well as upon departure which is very important. Billy at the Sandtrap is amazing! She makes excellent service look effortless and so natural. It seems her team/ colleagues enjoy working together. We also enjoyed Chase and Carson. All of the employees speak highly of their employment there which speaks volumes too. The beds and pillows are super comfy. It is also generally nice and quiet at night. The mowers do start in the morning but that is a welcomed sound. Though I do not want floods of people filling up our special/ favorite rooms, we do highly recommend McMenamins Gearhart.

What a cute eclectic hotel. Beach access only 1 block away. I came during a mini snow event but can’t wait to return in the spring to take advantage of the multiple fire pits. But the restaurant and bar downstairs each have large wood burning fireplaces.

We had a very nice stay the view of the golf course was relaxing and the restaurant & bar in house was great.
