The location of the hotel is fantastic-town centre, in front of the beach, sea view. Parking is alright, at the back yard. Staff is very friendly, nice and helpful, let us in 1 hour prior to official check in time. Soundproofing is good, didn’t hear our neighbours. Breakfast was lavish, fresh and tasty. In this property location sells itself. The building is tired, but luckily maintained. Curtains in the room are crying to be washed, dust is not wiped for days (if not weeks), tv was very stinky and not working, our bed was small and short for two of us (queen size I believe), water pressure in shower was too weak, carpets with all the possible stains, same as sofa, very unpleasant; waited for our breakfast for more than half an hour (though I received my vegetarian breakfast as I requested in my booking), coffee was only instant. I think, one night stay was too pricey for what it has, but overall impression is still rather good. Summary - if you want a good location with easy access to the Clacton city centre and the beach - here you go, just don’t expect a lot

Visited the Hotel for an event. I did not stay so can not comment on the rooms. However all staff which I came in contact with were so friendly and helpful. I was greeted right away at the door and from the moment I walked in to the moment I left every staff member was polite and hospitable. I felt truly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. The venue was clean and the prices of drinks very reasonable. Good selection of drinks. The venue was well located and the event room a good size with good size bar for the room. Would definitely recommend for events and room hire.

Attended an event at the hotel; both the bar and restaurant areas were very clean, as were the toilets. The staff were exceptional; you could not fault them. They were friendly and went above and beyond.

We booked this Hotel as a last minute break before school goes back. Check-in was a nice and simple process, our quadruple room was huge, spotlessly clean, great TV, tea and coffee facilities, and a view to the sea, personally not a fan of Nescafé or Tetley but that's personal choice no fault of the hotel,, hair dryer and had a small L shaped l settee. There were 2 issues with the room , one was the curtains, which were in poor condition, but with a bit of playing around they only just covered the huge bay window. The second issue with the shower, which i've mentione further down my review. Great bar area, please note, this hotel has themed nights on different weekend, so Friday was Soul night and Saturday was their first Garage Night, we didn't have any issues with either night, the bar obviously has it's regulars and we had no problems with them and found both evenings rather chilled. We stayed in Room 5, which is above the bar and the music did not disturb us, however there were room doors banging and a fella having an argument with a door or a wall til about 1:30 on Friday, quite amusing really, well that's what it sounded like but generally by 12:30 or 1 am all was quiet and didn't bother us. Staff couldn't do enough for us, from check-in, bar service, breakfast and check-out, big shout to all 3, 2 ladies and a fella, thank you for looking after us, apologies didn't get your names. The Chip Shop next door seems to have folded, and It would have been nice to try the Jamaican food at the hotel, but didn't get the opportunity, maybe a Jamaican breakfast, just an idea. All in all, a sound stay and quirky, but we really enjoyed it, would definitely stay here again, however, negative time, sorry but price could have been more amenable, I know it's the last weekend of August, but it was expensive considering other options in the town and seafront, £288 for 2 nights is a bit steep, sorry. While I'm on the negatives, and there's not many, the water pressure in the shower was very poor, it does the job fine, but very low trickle from the shower head, one last thing is hotel could do with a refresh from the outside, as it lets the place down. So, I'm going to end on a good note, the positives outweigh the negatives. Thank you for a great weekend., and a big thank you to the 3 pre mentioned staff for their attention and service. Hope the dude with the tractor gets it sorted 😂.

Didn’t expect too much as was overnight stay for early ferry trip for family of 6 with little research. Staff were welcoming and hotel modern and room very clean. They got up extra early to give us continental breakfast. Great location, nice bar , recommended! Far exceeded our expectations Thankyou.
