This hotel was such a fun surprise! I booked this for a work trip and had no idea what to expect. It’s now my go to hotel when I’m in Des Moines! It’s in a new area with a lot of restaurants and shopping very close, and they do have a steakhouse in the hotel, but I haven’t eaten there. The rooms are super modern and new, with a bright and airy feel to them. The bed is super comfortable and the rooms are quiet. The only downfall is the sink faucet, which is set super far back, so it barely makes it over the back edge of the sink. The pros of the hotel will make me overlook that, as I love this hotel!

I am a diamond member, but I've never felt that I was until now. Glenn (GM), Ankas (BarT), breakfast staff and front desk (Cathy) were way beyond top notch. Even with construction, they made sure that my stay was not only enjoyable but that I remain loyal to Hilton and this property in particular. I frequent Des Moines often. I won't book any where else again. Thanks again Glenn and team. Much appreciated. BTW, all effort was put forth before knowing I was a diamond member. So Class! Love it here.

This was my first stay with this brand and I was very impressed. I did not make the reservation. The room included a mini-kitchen of refrigerator and two-burner countertop complete with pots, plates, cups, etc. and all were in excellent condition. I did not use the kitchen. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was in excellent condition and had a good sized closet to hang clothes. I don't normally review beds since they are very subjective. It was very good. The hotel was busy because of weekend events and it was still quiet and easy. The outdoor patio was clean and in great condition, and a nice touch! Breakfast included typical hot foods. All was well supplied and a good variety of traditional hot and cold foods. Plenty of shopping and restaurants either in a walk or short drive. Great stay!

So, the context for this review is that we were traveling from Mississippi to the College World Series in Omaha. EVERYTHING around Omaha was booked, so our stays getting up there and while we were there were pretty awful: a Holiday Inn with no breakfast and a weak A/C in June, a roach motel in the middle of nowhere. So when we left Omaha exhausted (and victorious #hottytoddy), I found this hotel about 2.5 hours away from Omaha where we could rest before the last 11 hour leg of the trip. And it checked all the boxes. It was super clean and comfortable. They had plenty of towels and rags, and extra pillows on the bed (slept better than I have in 3 days on the road). Free DELICIOUS hot breakfast the next morning with waffles, sausage, Western omelets, and many cold choices too. The staff was helpful and polite, and left little ‘happy’ bags in the lobby for guests to pick up (free water and snacks). Zero complaints. None. To top it off, it was the cheapest rate I had paid compared to every other sad excuse for a hotel we had stayed at. Stay here. Trust me.

Appreciate app check in which allows bypass of front desk. Cons: ran shower for 20 minutes, never got hot water (top floor, toward end of hall). Mold in shower caulking. Sink did not drain well. Walls very thin, could hear neighboring room conversations without difficulty. Was also at hotel during a weather event. Local channels unavailable. I do not like breakfast at Hampton, so did not check out options/quality of breakfast at this hotel. Overall, very average in the area, will look for other options for next stay in the area.

I called Colette from another state and she helped me understand the various Marriott choices for my daughter's situation with location and her truck and trailer. We ended up choosing their property and it was great. There were eating options in the area. Ample (safe) parking for her vehicles and she was very pleased.

GGuest UserMy wife and I spent a night here driving from Michigan home to Colorado. When we arrived, I realized I'd reserved the wrong night. The front desk person helped us out, found a room for the same rate, and got us checked in no problem. The room was great - separate bedroom and complete kitchen. It was clean and quiet. The hotel also has a ton of stuff you can borrow (like waffle makers and games). I'd definitely recommend the place!

However, the front desk clerk was not wearing a face mask and the plexiglass shield did not extend over the entire counter, and the clerk was within two feet of my face. This puts me--and thus my entire family--at risk for COVID infection. While the owner has taken some COVID precautions (e.g., no communal coffee in the lobby), not requiring staff to wear face masks demonstrates a lack of concern for public health. Given that approximately 150,000 people have died of COVID-19 in the US alone, this is concerning. We we will choose another hotel to stay in in the future until the owners make substantive changes to their policies and practices. Also, we are not Democrats--COVID-19 does not discriminate on the basis of political affiliation.

GGuest UserLack of cleaning and maintenance through out the hotel. Broken light bulb in bathroom, towels were like sandpaper and non absorbent.Room was not cleaned or trash. removed over five day stay. If you want clean towels you have to take your dirty ones to the front desk to exchange for clean ones. Coffee packs and cups were not replenished. No elevator for second floor rooms. Breakfast was basic bagels and waffles ,coffee. no juice or tea. Indoor pool was too cold to get into.
