Outstanding
GGuest UserGreat hotel, modern and large rooms. King studio suite has fully stocked amenities to prepare food if desired. Modern bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Great pool and hot tub area. Breakfast was good with helpful staff.
We booked through a 3rd party booking site, trips.com as they offered the best rate, so we thought. They failed to mention the hotel has a daily resort fee not included in their prepaid fee. Credit card was needed to hold as an $50 incidental which was listed on the site and reimbursed if no incidents. Loved the hotel just wish it was noted on booking site extra frees required as we prepaid and was surprised upon arrival.
Th room and common areas were super clean, the hotel feels fresh and new, everything works, and the room had plenty of outlets and charging ports. The beds and bedding were comfortable, the blackout shades darken the room completely, the hot breakfast was included. This Holiday Express & Suites sets the standard for what mid-range hotels of this type should be striving for.
We stayed overnight during our recent trip to WisDells. This is our second time staying at this property. The first time was the same time in 2023( Labor Day weekend). The hotel was only 4 days old that time and the property was not even listed on TripAdvisor. Highlights: -Nice choice if you are visiting Dells. I know the hotel is 15mins.drive from Dells and other attractions(waterparks etc.) but still a great choice if you want a quiet location. -New property(peaceful, fresh air, country vibe). -Walking distance to many fast food restaurants and even a Walmart. -Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. -Small pool and is perfect for kids. -Free car parking. -Front desk staff were very friendly. Thanks to Devon at the front desk for taking care of our requests at the time of check-in. If you like running/walking outdoors, there are long stretches of sidewalks on South Blvd. going toward Baraboo downtown. You will pass through the National Army Guard tanker, art work, some historical buildings etc. Giving 4Stars only because of the breakfast experience. They seem to run out of basic supplies such as milk, yogurt etc. and are not prepared for managing the crowd spikes properly. The hotel should be prepared and ready when they are anticipating to get sold out. Some of the guests waited a long time for coffee that never came and they simply left. We had experienced the same issue last year as well and I recall having detailed conversations with Sharon, Duty Manager. Breakfast options can also be improved(based on our experiences with other Fairfield properties). Luggage carts will be a great addition in the front desk area for your guests to use. Overall comfortable stay(except for the breakfast experience). We will certainly return next time we are in WisDells. Thanks Fairfield team!
This hotel is brand new and very pleasant. The pool and gym were nice. I REALLY appreciated the breakfast because it was gluten free and catered to me. I enjoyed the egg white fritatas and chicken sausage. There were also other options such as pancakes, yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. The room was lovely. Not a big deal but the shampoo was empty. Since I just stayed one night, I used my own but I have this issue with Hilton hotels where the amenities are not refilled. We would definitely stay here again.
My partner is a patient at Mayo Clinic, so sometimes we stay in the Dells on our way to Rochester. When I noticed the new Avid Hotel had opened, I thought we'd check it out since I am a loyal IHG member. When we checked in, they told us that the hotel had just opened the prior week, so as you'd expect everything was new and clean. Outside of a little trouble with their check-in system, we had a smooth stay. The rooms are somewhat small, as I believe is consistent with this chain. The TV in the room is big though, and allows for easy casting from your device. There is a small fridge in the room - no coffee maker, but you can access free coffee in the lobby 24-7. Very comfortable bed. Free breakfast consisted of a small grab & go station that included things like granola bars, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and oatmeal. They also had some hot ready-made breakfast sandwiches (and to my pleasant surprise, a veggie omelet). One small thing I didn't love is the bathroom lights are automatic - so anytime you enter, the light goes on automatically (even in the middle of the night where I'd rather it didn't). Also, if your shower is going a bit long, you might be left in the dark. Otherwise we'd definitely stay here again! It was a few dollars cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express, main difference (in my opinion) being they have a pool. This is also directly next door to a handful of restaurants and just down the road from Kalahari and the AMC theatre.
GGuest UserMy 74 year old mom and I were visiting the Baraboo area on July 12. We chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express because of its location and because I have stayed in them numerous times before and been happy. That evening when I pulled back the sheets to get into bed, it was quite obvious that the sheets had not been changed, as there was a spot of feces on the sheets. Unfortunately I could tell from the smell what it was. I contacted the front desk and asked housekeeping to bring clean sheets and also asked someone from the front desk to come and see for themselves. They brought clean sheets, but I was still upset. They offered to change our rooms. We packed up everything and moved to the new room and it seemed cleaner and there were no problems with the sheets. If I had been closer to home, I would have checked out and driven home, but it was late. I would have liked the person from housekeeping to show more concern about the error. I am sure that hotels deal with lots of people trying to scam their way into a free night stay. That was not the case with us.
GGuest UserWe had a very enjoyable stay at LaQuinta Lake Delton/WI Dells. We experienced geat customer service. The facility was only 2 years old when we stayed, & offered a modern atmosphere. Included breakfast was tasty & complete. Facility's whirlpool was spacious & pool size suffucient. Patio offered a modern fireplace 24/7, and also a gas grill (which we did not use). Only one slup up - our room was not cleaned when we entered, so we were issued a different room. Reasonable rates for the quality, cleanliness & amenities included. We recommend this LaQuinta Inn & Suites location.
GGuest UserThe cleaning staff was amazing, the pool was decently clean but there were signs of wear. The breakfast wasn't very good, on the lower end of free breakfasts for hotels. The Front desk staff was basically non-existent, left the previous check-in person's information on the screen when we started to check-in. The keycards to get in stopped working before check-out time. One of our rooms keycard stopped working the day before checkout and the other room the keycard failed for the rooms at least sometime before 8 AM on checkout day, we were lucky we left someone in the room when we were loading the car. Toilet flush would make noises in the shower and it just felt like the rooms were poorly constructed. It is a nice stay right now, and the price is good, the room cleaning staff did a wonderful amazing job, I cannot give them enough compliments, the beds were very comfy and everything worked well now. I just fear that as time goes on things will break and won't be fixed, (there was a very large chip in our tub) but while things are relatively new it should be a good place to stay for someone wanting to explore the Wisconsin Dells.
MMars_My family and I stayed here after my mom got sick the day we were supposed to leave the area. The check in lady was very nice and our room was very clean. The leather seat from the chair was cracking and did track the material all over the room and in the bed. The pool was decently warm and the hot tub was excellent. Breakfast was decent, but not very warm. We went about midway through the allotted time. All in all, I would definitely book again.
