The hotel itself was pleasent. The front Desk Clerks and Management were accommodating. I stayed here 3 other times before, as for many years in the past for 2 overnight stays. Including this stay June 2024. This was the issue. The restaurant staff received a ton of money for preparing 2 meals during the stay. Breakfast and a fine prime rib or chicken dinner. It was the prime rib dinner that I didn't get a chance to enjoy due to the bkantent lie by the kitchen staff. From the Kitchen Manager to the cooks (they are not chefs), kept on telling me , they will prepare a certain dressing (French) due to allergies. After going in and explaining about the allergy 1 hour prior to meal, they the head cook, and manager that my request would be honored. Lie number #1. 30 min before meal time, it was stated, request was ”being worked on'. Lie #2. Wait staff notified and bought it to the kitchen, 'it will be right out with the bread, Lie #3. Meal time, no dressing. Wait staff came out, ”the cooks will not make it for you, it's not required for them to do that”. After 1 hour to inform the kitchen staff, now it's a flat NO. The kitchen staff received a visit. One Lie after another. They still are lying about my simple request. Not honoring a request is one issue, lying and stringing a customer along, for over an hour, is another. I was now banned from returning to my table even to have an expensive meal that was prepaid for. Frustrations level grew high. One lie after another. NO meal that whole evening and NO Integrity within the kitchen Staff. This is pathetic. A simple request due to allergies, for a function, as I am a disabled combat veteran. Only to have'd paid for a meal, I couldn't have due to the false pretenses and the lack of caring to a paying customer. This deserves better treatment to a 22 year disabled Naval Veteran.
My wife and I stayed this weekend at this location. Front desk staff are very friendly. Konsatine manager excellent,he even had a hand written note for us when we checked in to let us know if we needed anything during our stay to let him know. I have styed here multiple times (10+) over the last 18 months or so spending thousands of dollars in the process. Im in a good position to offer a review. Good - Like 95% of HIEX's...Location. Right off 91. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Lady who tends to work mornings on front desk/breakfast is always super friendly. Staff in general pretty friendly, cleanliness decent. Never had a problem with WI-FI, its always been pretty good and reliable. Bad - Like 95% of HIEX's...Walls are paper thin and you hear EVERYTHING. Breakfast typical of this chain, nothing to write home about. Tiny breakfast room. Only one elevator and its mostly taken up by housekeeping staff 8am-1pm. STRONG smell of **** in corridors. Exit doors always wedged open (not great for security). Ugly - Ive witnessed at least 3 occasions where cars have been broken into in the parking lot. On my most recent visit, 10 (yes, TEN!) cars had their windows smashed. Now this isnt the hotels fault per se, blame that on the local scumbags, but the parking lot is dimly lit and has no CCTV. Maybe time to install some better lighting and cameras? This was my go-to hotel for my work in the Hartford area but after seeing all the car windows smashed up i was a) glad my car was spared, b) sorry for all those folks who had their day ruined and c) looking at other hotels elsewhere from now on. Shame
Best motel in CT. The front desk personel are very courteous, professional and get you to your room quick. Rooms are upkept decently and cleaned well by housekeeping daily. Great job to them, alot of places stopped doing daily housekeeping after COVID so I appreciate their efforts to keep the place clean and stocked. Great job to management here, I would definitely recommend for business travel.
The American chain hotel is clean and comfortable, American standard, and it is very convenient to have coffee machine and refrigerator. Mainly near the airport, there is a free 24-hour shuttle service. There are also fast food restaurants and gas station supermarkets nearby.
Very good hotel, the front desk staff is very friendly, the location is convenient, the transportation is convenient, opposite the big supermarket, next door is the car rental company and the ruth steak restaurant. There are also 2 big gun shops next door. Will stay again next time.
With a stay at Atlantic Inn in Wethersfield, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Connecticut Convention Center and XL Center. This motel is 0.9 mi (1.5 km) from Callahan's Bowl a Rama and 1.9 mi (3.1 km) from Mill Pond Park.
Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 22 air-conditioned rooms featuring flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and cable programming is available for your entertainment. Private bathrooms with showers feature complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include safes and desks, and housekeeping is provided daily.
For a hotel only four years old, this property is an embarrassment to the Marriott brand. It's just plain filthy and not maintained. I had to change rooms because the condition of the first room was so bad with black mold and green algae in the shower. If you are going to have glass shower doors, they require constant upkeep. Because of the neglect plus the hard water in the area, the doors are etched with water spots. In addition, the drawers and doors would not shut, there was toothpaste on the walls and the carpet had huge sticky spots. The new room I changed to was not much better. There were gigantic stains on the carpet in bright blue and red. The shower was less moldy without the green algae. The walls are thin and we heard our neighbors' conversations and television. The hallways had trash in them. The elevators need maintenance as well. I am surprised they have passed inspections. The noises and jerkiness were cause for alarm. Breakfast is the same every day: dried sausage, eggs, yogurt, a few breads to toast, cereals, waffles and a few pieces of fruit. We didn't require much but as my daughter was going to skate every morning, she needed something. On Saturday, all of the food ran out around 9 and even though breakfast closed at 9:30, nothing was replenished. There were no bagels, no yogurt, only some cereal but no milk and some very green bananas. The juice machine was broken. Gruanted it was crowded with a greedy bunch of customers taking huge plates up to their rooms. Sticky seats remained sticky multiple mornings. Our last day, we observed employees eating from the breakfast making customers wait. Finally, this hotel isn't located near anywhere you would want to go that would attract people to take advantage of using their quite limited parking lot. They have a cash grab going on by charging for parking. I would have gone to stay with friends except the stay was pre-paid with no refunds. I'm not giving the hotel 1 star only because it's not a fleabag, totally scummy unsafe place. 1.5 stars for lack of cleanliness, service, and maintenance. There is no excuse for a 4 year old hotel to be in this condition. Shame on them.
