We were in this area for a wedding. Other parties stayed at the embassy and we chose to stay at this particular hotel. I would have to say this was my first stay at a Home2suites and this stay has me looking forward to staying with them again to where ever my travels take me. This particular location was clean, beds were comfy, the pool was great as well. We were here only for 2 days but I was pleased with the large room we had for our family of 4. We did the 2 queen bed studio room and it was one of the most spacious hotel rooms I have been in. The common areas we were well upkept and the complimentary breakfast (although) similar to other hotels was stocked so it was ready when we were ready. The following week in July I stayed in a different Home 2 suites and although it didn't hit the benchmark of this location it was also a great stay.

Cute one bedroom apartment. Full kitchen. Washer and dryer. Had a wonderful stay in the Minneapolis area. Staff is friendly. Aletha, at the front desk, was great. Plan to stay here again if we are in the area. Perfect accommodations for 2 people.

Place is way understaffed. Was told “this is a holiday weekend and we are a conference hosting hotel and no one is staying here this weekend”. The restaurant closed early every night and at different times and no notice was put up to tell us the changed hours. Nothing was on the website telling us that some services would not be available. We checked in Wednesday and stayed until Memorial Day. Room was not cleaned 2 days was told I had to ask for cleaning service. Isn’t part of the fun of going to a hotel is to feel a little pampered? I mean if I wanted to sleep in a messy bed I could have stayed at home. We had another couple with us and they placed their dirty dishes outside their room Friday and they were still Sunday morning. We requested the rooms be close to each other and we are 11 rooms apart. Our room was on a lower floor felt like we were stuck in the basement. The room was dingy and dated with flys in the bathroom and we had no luggage rack and the desk was sagging and the chair would not push in all the way. This hotel is a total disappointment and would not recommend it at all. Staff was a little stand offish and seemed disinterested in our issues. They seemed they wanted to be elsewhere not engaged. As a hospitality business I would grade it a D-. They had a number of nice sitting areas to relax while we waited for the room to be cleaned. We were sitting next to the closed bar and empty coffee and water pots.
Area is safe and easy parking- easy access to freeway and not too far from Walker Art. Onsite was adequate in cleanliness, room ok not the awesome cleaning I read about in other reviews, breakfast was very nice with longer hours on Saturday and good seating which helps with kids. My only real negative that will stick with me was that there was alcohol in the pool/hot tub area (no one was blitzed) but it made for a little discomfort around the hot tub with kids. The Twins were playing that day at home- so I'll have to keep that in mind next time we travel to MN.
On Wednesday the 20th of July, 2022 around 1 pm, I was a guest there and I had a friend come over while I was at work. He got locked out so he tried to get a key to my room and the lady at the front desk apparently gave him access without confirming any information nor was my friend’s name on the reservation! Once my friend told me that he was able to get a new key because he accidentally locked himself out, I was and still are livid at this employee. I have worked in hotels for OVER 12 YEARS and this is HOTEL 101. I felt like my security was compromised. I stopped by the front desk to confront the lady and when I arrived I asked her for a card or the general managers phone number or email. She rudely explained to me that they aren’t here. I said, “that’s fine but I’m asking u to write down the name and number and email address to your general manager”. She kept arguing with me stating that I can call the hotel and it’s online. She repeated this over and over multiple times. I sternly said I am not asking u to redirect me where to go, I’m asking u to write it down. She was very argumentative with me. I finally got fed up with it and said I have worked in this industry for multiple years and u are not providing good customer service. She tried to blame my friend telling me that she’s gonna call the cops and have him removed because he’s an unregistered guest. I was the registered guest. My friend stopped by while I was at work. I am not paying for this stay and will be submitting a review on this because like I said I am LIVID at the fact that there was no understanding at how this was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNACCEPTABLE! Nor was there any apology from the employee!😡😠 I feel like she should no longer work there if she isn’t going to care about people’s safety! Very disappointed!!!!🤬😡
I think this business trip is a very comfortable hotel.
When I checked in, it was 3 am, and the front desk had printed the check-in information very intimately, and the check-in was very smooth.
I also took the time to go to the University of Minnesota, hahaha
