I booked a garden view room for 3 to 4 people. The room is huge and beyond imagination. In fact, it is a two-bedroom, one living room with a corner balcony, and a kitchen dining table. We stayed five nights at Honua Kai. The exterior grounds were well kept though the pool was cloudy on more than one day. I’d say the pool was average+ compared to others I’ve visited. Hotel was on the beach so it was nice to have that as an alternate swimming option- awesome views too! Barely any drink waiters around the pool which wasn’t a huge deal but gives you an idea of the level of service available. We didn’t have room service the entire time we were there which was annoying. Maybe that’s the new norm post-Covid but it would’ve been helpful with five people in a room. And honestly, it’s a cheap way out for hotels IMO. Fitness room was over 80 degrees. There were only large fans; no A/C in half the gym. There was one yoga mat for the entire room. One day I went in, there were no water cups. Just felt the overall attention to interior maintenance was average at best. The place is massive. Half are condos and half are rentals. Nice space available in the rooms for families. Having the kitchen and two bathrooms was a bonus. Average, clean rooms with nice views. In a scale of stars, Id give it a solid 4. Nothing special, but clean and good for families.
