Outstanding
GGuest UserI was in the area looking at universities with my son. Having stayed in a couple of hotels that were expensive on the way to Boston (but were hugely disappointing) I couldn't spend hundreds on another night and feel the room wasn't clean, was tired/dated and yucky. So coming into Boston, I struggled to find a hotel that was really nice for less than $500 per night.
The Encore was one of the best value places I could find and so reluctantly, I booked. I am so thrilled I did. It felt like incredible value for what we got and a real treat after being on the road for a few days in very average places. It was clean, large, well considered and was a fun place for us to lay our heads for the night. We didn't take part in the ****** (I didn't realise it was a ******) but we had a fun dinner and enjoyed the property the next day too. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserThe two women booked a twin room but were given a king-size bed room. When adjusting the room, the communication with the manager was not smooth and the attitude was bad. The hotel is very far from anywhere and the three-day transportation cost several hundred dollars!!!
GGuest UserI have been staying at this Marriott for many years and can only confirm what many of the recent reviews have said. It has really gone downhill. On weekends there is always some kind of event, tournament or group in the hotel which can be a bit chaotic. The hotel has also been playing the Covid card for too long with limited services and amenities - no room cleaning, no hot tub, no restaurant service etc. I agree with others that the information provided on the website is unclear and you really take a risk going and not having what you’d like open and available. Even the lobby coffee isn’t consistent - again maybe only Mon-Thur. So as a weekend guest your experience is very much diminished. I stayed last year for Thanksgiving and it was so dark and quiet that it felt a bit like an abandoned hotel. We’ll be visiting the area again at Christmas this year and will try the Residence Inn down the road. I have heard good things about it so will share my views after our stay.
IInspire45938460402From the lobby to the breakfast to the room, everything was perfection. The location was walkable to stores, any type of restaurant you could want or you can cook in your room, as kitchen is fully stocked! If you want to lounge on a couch by a fire in lobby or workout in gym, then take a year round swim, you can! Staff was lovely, rooms so clean and the whole set up was comfortable! I wanted to just live there. This will be our go to place from now on.
GGuest UserEverything was perfect about our stay from fulfilling our request for a higher floor room with a view, to the breakfast staff meeting our request for a ”hot” vegetarian item. We were leaving at about 5am on the final day and the breakfast doesn't open until 6:30am/7am, but the staff was very nice enough for us to let us pick a few bakery and refrigerated items for to go that early morning. The room was VERY spacious with a fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans. It was very helpful for the Uber Eats delivery we had one of the nights as we could eat in the ”real” plates and use the silverware. We put the left overs in the fridge. The entire staff of the hotel was very respectful and ever smiling. Having a Starbucks attached to the hotel was great and the exit thru the Starbucks to the parking garage was super convenient.
DDarburaPros:
New Yorker first time driving to Boston, so i need a hotel that provide parking. This hotel provide free and pretty safe parking in their basement which is excellent for interstate driving travelers.
Beside free parking, this hotel also great for sightseeing Boston via public transportation. There is a bus stop right across the street. Bus 77 will go straight to the Red Line Harvard Station. You can transfer to Red Line and go straight to the city. Or you can transfer to Bus 1, which will take you to nearby Boston University and Newbury St. From Newbury St stop, you can transfer to the Green Line at Hynes Convention Center Station. There are a lot of attractions right on the Green Line for you to explore.
When you are done with your travel, u can take Red Line or Bus 1 back to Harvard Station, then transfer 77 and it will take you back right next to the hotel.
This hotel also provide free breakfast in my booking. The breakfast is nice but will be better if it can last to 10am during the weekdays. (6-9weekdays, 7-10 weekends)
The room is not bad, pretty big with table, kitchen, refrigerator, sofa, two tvs and a bed. The room I have is pretty clean and I do not have much to complain. The hotel staffs are nice too.
Cons: The mattress is not too hard or soft and is comfortable for me. However, it is little too noisy when you try to move or turn.
The bathtub is slippery when you step in it, especially where there’s water in it. I have to grab the pole tight every time. The hotel need to address this issue for safety.
GGuest UserThey unilaterally preauthorize pet cleaning fees for service animals in violation of the ADA. Very shady business practice. Beginning deposit was 75, the preauthorize total became 161 approximately, or an 86 dollar arbitrary additional fee. Encourage anyone else experiencing this to contact attorney if you are disabled and discriminated against. Establishments are not allowed to impose barriers but are REQUIRED by civil law to eliminate them. I am a working professional with a service animal, smooth and consistent rules applied equally are greatly important to me to reduce hassles like these for my work to be optimal
GGuest UserThis inn used to be really great, being cheaper than most and really well situated, being near Boston. The breakfast used to be really good also, but it’s not offered anymore. However the inn didn’t age really well. First the parking lot is in an awful state, so be careful with your car. Our room was in really bad shape: the bath tub was rusty, the AC noisy and there was a blind in the window, but no drapes, so the sunlight was entering the room by the side in the morning, waking us up. The ice machine wasn’t working. And there was only one set of towel in the room for two queen beds. Note that there is no service in the room, nobody come to make the beds and empty the trash. The worst part for us pas the problems with the door. On the second day of our stay, we realised that the door of the room wasn’t locking at all. We were assured that it would be fixes first thing in the morning, but when we arrived the following evening, the door was still unlocked. We were lucky that nothing was stolen. I tried to talk with a manager to request a discount and was told they would contact me during the week, but they never did. I tried to contact them through Expedia and they didn’t care to offer anything. Lately I tried to contact them directly and once again they assured me they would call me back, but 2 weeks later I still didn’t hear for them. This hotel and the management clearly didn’t care for their clients and the quality of their installation, so avoid this place.
GGuest UserSo impressed with my experience at this hotel. Room is so clean, there’s a free parking garage, and it’s calm and quiet. Will definitely love to stay here again. Rooms are large and the bathroom is more than sufficient. Highly recommend it!
SStuart SDuring a time of distress, our family was welcomed into the Extended Stay Hotel in Burlington, MA The entire staff as well as the General Manager have been accommodating toward our needs. They are extremely supportive and friendly. The rooms are clean and they have a mini kitchen with a full size refrigerator so you don’t have to always go out for food. It’s located near local shopping areas and easy access to local and highways. We would always look for an Extended Stay Hotel whenever we travel.
