Only spent one night while attending a wedding in Sandusky. We found the property attractive and our second floor two queen room comfortable, clean, and sufficiently appointed with a nice size TV, microwave, modest mini-fridge, and in room safe. Particularly appreciated that the bathroom was a walk-in shower as opposed to a more traditional tub/shower configuration. The lack of an in room coffee maker was disappointing and the on site Starbucks had limited hours (6 am - 9 pm). The resort is annoyingly cashless meaning that even small purchases required using a credit card. While we didn't use many of the amenities during this stay the pool area, public spaces, restaurant, bars, and market including the adjoining golf course were inviting reflecting recent updates. Note rooms are a considerable distance from the single elevator and most resort amenities. The “resort” has small convention facilities which could be annoying if booking for a couple or small family escape. Would certainly consider for a longer stay if visiting nearby Cedar Point or a short escape.
We stayed in a deluxe queen room to get the fridge. The room is decently sized. We were able to fit in our twin air mattress. Beds are comfortable, and the room is mostly clean. We did not use the pool or hot tub. The towels are small, but for the price we paid, we were fine with that. Our room had 2 small table sets, with 4 total chairs. The little kitchen area was nice for prepping easy food. The train is noisy! Bring earplugs or grab some at Walmart. We stayed here for a visit to Cedar Point and found this motel to be a great location, only about 15 minutes away.
I am starting to have some issues with Choice Hotels. It useed to be that their different brands had predictable levels of service---Clarion was an old-style motel, Quality a little better, Sleep Inn and Comfort wth full amenities, and some upsacel in Ascend and Cambria. Lately, I can't predict if a Qulaity Inn will be better than a Comfort or if it will be a 1950s stye exterior-door motel with no elevators. So we are enjoying a stay in Huron, where this Comfort Inn isn't quite what I'd expect in that brand. What was disappointing--no business center. No pool. Extremely slow wi-fi. Old-style magnetic-strip door key cards that don't always store a code, and exterior doors that get locked tight at night and they key card won't admit you (and the back door, which overlooked the Huron River, doesn't have a key card reader). Our road-side room gets a lot of exgerior noise--I'm not a light sleeper, but I was awakened in the middle of our first night by some loud metallic sound outside, sounded like a pile-driver. Photos of the property suggested that there was a furnished back patio with stair access to a small beach, but that furniture is gone and what s at the bottom of those stairs is concrete. On the plus side--staff was really good and responsive to our needs.Rooms are nice and spacious with a big soaker tub in the bathroom. And best of all, it is right on the river's edge, and by luck we were here on the night of a supermoon with gorgeous weather--the reflection on the river was almost breathraking. Readers should understand that I award a rating of 4 to any chain hotel that meets the chain's standards as I expect them--5 means even better, and lower rating--disappointment Here' there are some missing pieces and other points of excellence which balance each other out.

Great room, clean and well lit. Seemingly safe location and quiet. The stay was overall good, easy to find. You won't be disappointed in this hotel. Clearly, it is not a 5 star hotel. However, it is way worth the price you pay. The staff was attentive and helpful both checking in and when leaving.

Don’t be discouraged by negative reviews! Hotel is under new management (for a few months now) and it shows. Room was very clean, the bed comfortable, staff was great! Breakfast was typical Hampton fare, well stocked and tidy. Manager personally spoke with every guest in the breakfast area, following up with some, noting concern of another. Really what hospitality is all about. Stayed one night for solar eclipse.
We were here for a softball tournament at Sports Force park July 2024. The hotel is close (15 min) to the fields and Cedar Point. Everything was clean and housekeeping was friendly. The breakfast was good with the usual offerings. We stayed in room 333 for 3 nights. No sign of bed bugs (I check religiously since I was exposed at work.) I confirmed with front desk that they have not had an infestation of them in a few years. Front desk staff was outstanding and even had complementary chocolates! Highly recommend!
I was a bit disappointed that the tiki bar no longer existed. And there was not a hot breakfast, it was a grab and go breakfast. I’ve stayed there many times before but this time some Guest were very noisy and loud during the night and early morning.
Let me say the staff was great and the room was clean.
I e3njoyed my time there with my family for my cedar point trip. The pool was inviting loved their Marketplace. Melissa the manager was very polite and helpful. As well as Amber and Beki. They actually joked around with us. Breakfast was good also. I needed that coffee in the morning. What renovations that has happened since last year are great!
