4.4/5
Excellent
When we arrived, the employees are so friendly and upbeat that they even carried on till we checked out! We stayed in the suite with 6 of us and it was great. The room was huge, and very clean. Breakfast was delicious, and everyone was full, which was perfect before we got back on the road to Florida. Lastly, the location, we felt very safe in. And we appreciate the extra measure they take to continue that! We will def be back when we take another road trip to Florida again in the next year.
Went to the bar in the lobby for lunch and really enjoyed the experience! Our bartender's name was Tay and she was amazing! She made great drinks and was very helpful with the lunch menu. I tried the Flatliner (espresso cocktail) and my wife had the Freakshow red wine. I recommend the beef brisket sandwich. We'll definitely be back to try the dinner menu.
GGuest UserPer the reviews this seemed like the best option for a road trip stop in the Jackson area. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. This is the number one requirement; so if we have to stop in the Jackson area again, we would stay here. The breakfast, however, was pretty minimal. My husband must eat gluten-free so his choices at these complimentary breakfast bars are always limited. Food service eggs and potatoes can be contaminated during production and they are often served alongside biscuits or waffles and thus are not safe to eat. But as long as there are boiled eggs, orange juice, and some sort of fruit, he can manage. Here, they didn’t even have boiled eggs so there was nothing he could eat. They are so easy to provide so I hope they will add them before our next visit.
This hotel has a severe bed bug infestation. I was waken up out of my sleep to discomfort and itchy skin. I turned the lights on to observe the bed, I found bed bugs were crawling all over the pillows and the sheet in visible view to see. I waited for the manager who was supposed to arrive at 7 am, he did not arrive until 8 am. After explaining to manager that my room(111) had bed bugs, he looked unconcerned about my complaint. I offered to show him pictures I took of the bugs crawling on the pillows and my bites
DDream35974867280Upon arrival we were dubious about the location but they do have gated parking so decided to proceed. This hotel has been updated for the most part but I was very horrified upon checking in and getting ready to wash up when air and very dirty muddy water came gushing out of the sink. I let it run a bit and it did clear up but it was really shocking. The same thing happened with the bath when I went to take a shower, lots of air, mud and muddy water came out. The phone in the room did not work so I couldn't call the front desk. Because I was so tired and the water appeared to clear up I just went to bed. The beds are comfortable and pillows were good. The next morning when I went to check out I asked about the water issue and was told that unfortunately the City of Jackson doesn't inform the hotel when they are doing construction and they had been working right around the corner. REALLY? How does mud and and air get into the hotel system just because construction was going on? the hotel does offer a full breakfast but we were afraid to eat it not knowing about the water.
The staff was wonderful and accommodating. Excellent front desk attendants and housekeeping. Actually everyone I ran into was very nice. My issue was with the toilet. It ran the entire time I was there. I called the front desk to tell them the water in back was running and it wouldn’t flush because it wasn’t filling up. They sent someone up to repair it, (he was even nice) but whatever he did didn’t work. He had to come back again and it still wasn’t right, but at least it flushed now. We just decided to keep the bathroom door closed so we wouldn’t have to hear the constant sound of water running all night. Other than that, the stay was pleasant. Hotel could use some upgrades. I might stay again if I’m in the area.
The bed was clean and super comfy, bathroom area was huge. The women at the front desk was very polite and so was the manager. Unfortunately, the pool is closed permanently but the breakfast was good! Free parking and vending machine on sight. Room had a microwave and refrigerator which was really helpful. It is an older hotel and definitely has that hotel smell, but it was very nice and I had a good nights rest.
The bed was good. The room was nice. However, we needed to to leave a day early on our three day stay. We notified the front desk on the first day. They were very friendly said OK. But when we checked out after two nights, we noticed that we were billed for three nights. When speaking with the franchise owner, he refused a refund saying that shortening a stay could only be done prior to check in. We’ve never experienced this before and were not told while we were staying there. This is very disappointing and not good customer service. Each franchise owner has discretion on whether to give a refund and in all other choice hotels we’ve stayed at, the franchise owner has been very willing to update the reservation. I am posting this really to let others know that the ability to change your reservation, once you’re checked in, is completely up to the franchise owner, and even if the front desk is very friendly and cooperative, to assume that you will be charged for the full reservation, unless you have it in writing. This owner was in their legal right, but we don’t see this as a good customer service.
Llouie0904The Red Roof Inn is recently remodeled, with new staff and owners. This hotel has gone through major improvements with remodeled rooms, new furniture and comfortable beds. It is very clean and well maintained. The outside areas are nicely landscaped, very well lit and secure. A major improvement from earlier days! Highly recommend it since new owner, Bob Patel took over!
