Second time I have stayed here and it is a great option if you want to be convenient to both Amherst and Northampton (or even South Hadley) as it's in the middle of everything. Easy drive to all the 5 colleges/towns. Plenty of free parking and you can even catch the PVTA right next to the hotel if you don't want to drive around. Room was huge, modern and well-maintained. We also were happy to be able to do laundry here (reasonably priced coin-op including detergent, change available at front desk), a nice perk when on a road trip. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn, with a good selection of waffles, bagels, fresh fruit etc. Common areas were clean and staff were friendly and helpful. There's even an indoor pool and a gym. Good value for the money. We will always have this place in mind when visiting the area!

The hotel was located perfectly on the main ***** but was very quiet and relaxing. It is across the street from Walmart and quite a few shopping stores. Restaurants are very close by. Texas Roadhouse is two minutes drive up the street. The room was very cozy and provided everything you need for the stay. Nice living room space and full kitchen. Breakfast was very good. A few added items other than the basic continental. The pastry were very fresh. We not use the pool or exercise room but they were both nice. The pool isn’t a very large one.
Going to a nearby university to visit the school, this hotel is a bit biased, but it is very convenient to go to a nearby university. I drove for 15 minutes, but this does not affect the impression of this hotel, the room is large, quiet, breakfast is also compared Rich and worth recommending.
Stayed here while visiting my daughter at UMASS. There were many college students staying here for Blarney weekend, which is a huge party at UMASS and students can not have overnight visitors on campus. Guess they all stayed here! I was pretty concerned it would be a night of little sleep, but other than the pot smell, it was not an issue. I expressed my concerns to the front desk when checking in and they put me at the end of the hallway. They said they tried to keep all the college students near the elevators to reduce noise complaints. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows are super comfortable. I'm actually looking into how to buy a choice hotel pillow on line they are that good. I also really appreciate the night light in the bathroom. My main complaint is around breakfast. They coffee is a horribly watered-down coffee concentrate. Please provide a decent cup of coffee! Also, other than cheerios, bananas, apples, yogurt and hard boiled eggs there were no gluten free options. There were individually wrapped corn muffins that I think were intended to be the gluten free option, but upon reading the packaging the first ingredient was wheat flour. I asked the breakfast attendant, and she had no idea what gluten was and thought I was asking for a whole wheat item. She then pointed to the corn muffins. I told her they were not gluten free and she said that was all they had. I have been here in the past and there were gluten free, individually wrapped udi's muffins. Please bring these back. Also, don't put out wrapped muffins that aren't gluten free. This is confusing given the muffins in the pastry unit. One would assume they are allergy friendly since they are wrapped and in a separate location. They most certainly are not.
The price is cheap, and the price is high relative to the surrounding. About 50 meters to the right of the door is the B43 station. The simple iron sign on the right side of Figure 9 is the station logo. You can download the pvtrack software to check the station number, station number 136, go to UMASS very close, and hit uber a few knives. There is an applebee chain restaurant nearby, ok, about 300 meters away is Target and Wal-Mart supermarket. Breakfast is simpler, bread and fruit coffee, fill your stomach.
Red roof inn with a different name. These fakers may have the marriott name but the quality does not deserve it. We asked for a crib well before we arrived. After having to remind them the third time, they gave us a pack n play that hardly even held together. It isn’t a crib. If they had just told us we could’ve made arrangements. The pull out bed had nasty stains on the mattress. I’m a multi year elite member of Marriott and still, this is awful hotel in terms of service experience and cleanliness. It makes me question marriott loyalty for sure
This is only for the restaurant, not the hotel. We had one of the worst experiences at the bar and restaurant at the Hotel Northampton. We walked up to a nearly empty bar and the bartender barked ”and what do you want?” without looking up at us. As we were ordering, she walked away. She came back and said ”well?” We again ordered two simple drinks, and she brought them to us without a word or a smile or any eye contact. She put them on the counter, went back to print our the receipt and tossed it to us from a few feet away. As we walked to the patio with our drinks, she yelled (and I do mean yelled) ”where are you going? You can not take any drinks outside.” She was so loud the diners in the place all became silent and looked up. The staff member at the front door came over to us, acutely aware of how loud and uncalled for this was. She said we could, in fact, take the drinks outside, but it had to be to a small section of the patio, away from the diners. We followed her instructions only to find that all the chairs in this little section were tethered and bolted to each other and to the tables, so we could not even sit down. When asked about this she said ”I said you could use the patio, I didn't say you could sit down.” At that point we chugged our drinks standing right there in the dining room, and sat the empties on a stranger's table, and left. Never will set foot in there again.
One of the most unhelpful and uncomfortable places in which I have stayed. No one helped us with our luggage even though one of us had a knee brace and used a cane. Had to carry luggage up and down stairs ourselves. Could not unload luggage in front of entrance but had to walk from parking lot across street in the rain. Room disappointing. Glass shower door had no latch on the inside so if one closed it all the way , it could not be opened from the inside. We had a suite but the it was located in the attic. Low ceilings and living room was furnished like a dorm room living area. TV in bedroom did not work. Coffee from Keurig was undrinkable. No bottled water offered. For the price of the room , off season, there was very little value.
