We stayed here during the 9 year state baseball tournament, we wanted a hotel a little farther away then all the kids were staying. Great location, safe parking and near restaurant’s and a Walmart. Restaurant was open so we ordered food to go to our room. Room pluses - mini fridge microwave large flat screen TV and an awesome AC. Cons - coffee pot needs updating and bathroom could use a little updating. Please move smoking area away from entrance. This hotel was great for our needs, would stay again
Overall very positive - quiet and clean with a friendly staff. Negatives: - holiday inn express (corporate) should give up on the plastic fake cheese omelettes at breakfast - they are bad. The rest of the breakfast is pretty good, though. - although advertised as smoke free our floor reeked of cigarette smoke and Febreze. Even the room cleaning crew was complaining about the smell. I realize it is not the hotel’s fault if someone smokes in their room.

We had our first family reunion here this weekend and it was a great success thanks to the wonderful staff. Roxanna, Vickie, Izzy, & Marvin were excellent. If you are thinking about having a function here, DO NOT HESITATE! BOOK IT! They took care of my every need and helped my family out of a last minute jam. My family had an incredible time and enjoyed their stay and the event thoroughly. Thank You so much for all of your help and hospitality! A+ Service!

In pics and in person the modern fresh room style is appealing though the functionality is sub-par. An example: one night table was a solid piece, no drawer or shelf with the top diameter much smaller than my laptop. Typically, a phone (use as an alarm), a bottle of water and an iPad , e-reader or book/magazine would be on a nightstand. Whoops, no room for all that and the slick surface made me nervous to leave my iPad on it. The open closet is fine, especially for me as I don't hang or put clothes in a drawer, but the only space available that wasn't in the bathroom is directly below where one would hang their clothes and right above the fridge. This could make it a perfect spot for a soft sided cooler, but this relatively small space (didn't measure, maybe 14”x20” with Keurig-style coffee maker already on it) is where one might set snacks, extra sodas, the cereal one brings because they like to eat the same thing every day and need a spot to set their cereal bowl while grabbing milk out of fridge right below. Not sure about you, but I'm not terribly comfortable putting food & dishes in the bathroom. Unfortunately, that is where my coffee maker needed to go (if I'm remembering correctly) the outlets where not accessible so Mr. Nespresso did need to go in the bathroom.
Bathroom shower had some mold around the caulk area, otherwise serviceable. Not a horrible room overall, but not as nice as other similarly priced nearby chains so I'll stick to those.
My stay here has been for a little over a month now and this morning was the WORST AND RUDEST SERVICE I have had the ENTIRE time I have been here. Everyone else has been EXTREMELY friendly and kind. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude to my sister whom went to pay for the room for the day. She tried to charge her over the amount of the flat rate I was given so far bc of the length of my stay and asked for an ID and she was not switching out the room. She was only paying for it. The gentleman who’s name was on the room was working. She refused to apply our flat rate discount, continued to be rude to my sister who has very bad mentally issues from other trauma. I called down to speak with her and she continued her appalling attitude. I asked not to speak to me that way bc it was very rude and disrespectful and she continued. I then asked her name and later in time, she gave me a fake name, I asked her lastname and she told me “Nunya” which means “none of your business” in sarcasm. Then asked me what my name was. I went to find out the e problem at front desk and the lady there knows I’ve been here that long and knows our room and knows of the gentleman who’s name is on the room. She continued to raise her voice as she was in the phone with the manager. When I started explaining to the manager, the front desk clerk continued to raise her voice and also answered the phone bc of a call coming in all while continuing to argue with me. After explaining to owner she found that we have been here that long and tons the lady what to do. This woman threatened to have me physically removed by the police telling me my room wasn’t under my name. With that being said, my name was on the room for the second guest. My sister was trembling for about 45 minutes after the occurrence. I made a NASTY complaint on her and I honestly hope she loses her job!!!! THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!! But she failed to agree with that. I was so upset that my blood pressure was high and had to take an extra half of meds. This woman clearly does not belong working with the public. I have NEVER in my 44 years of life been spoken to the way she spoke to m?(’

AAddison727The Holiday Inn - Winchester SE-Historic Gateway turned out to be a perfect and surprising sweet stopover. It was a long day's drive to get there but Marie greeted us with a big smile and wholeheartedly welcomed our kitty as well. :) It was a very nice Holiday Inn and the room was clean and relaxing. Breakfast was the ”icing on the cake” and it was because of Brandy who was our server. A terrific disposition and jovial personality on an early Monday morning. The food was delicious, as well. Clearly - an overall nice stay at this hotel and we highly recommend it.
GGuest UserThe stay occurred over the Memorial Day weekend. I can't say enough about the lady that fixes the breakfast. It is amazing to see her detail to cleanliness and presentation, plus, she makes breakfast that is out of this world. I hope they never lose her! Saturday's breakfast was real scrabbled eggs, bacon and potatoes. Sunday's was scrabbled eggs, sausage, homemade biscuits and sausage gravy! Amazing! Monday, Memorial Day, was scrabbled eggs, rosemary potatoes (which were delicious), and bacon. I would pay to eat the breakfast she puts out. The coffee was hot, the juice bar was always full, and the waffle irons were ready for anyone who wanted a waffle. Thank you for paying attention to all those details. The hotel was clean and quiet!
This hotel is great!!!!’ Had a couples weekend and all of our needs were met. Hotel was quite clean and staff very pleasant. Breakfast was ok could be a little better with more options. Staff was most excellent and happy to meet whatever need you may have and greet you with a smile.
GGuest UserWe used IHG points for a one night stay at this hotel. We have stayed at numerous Holiday Inn Express hotels, and this one was by far the worst. The lobby was messy and the floors looked dirty. We were told not to use the side door because it was not working well - which was true - it could not be locked because part of the jamb was broken off. We were given a first floor room. On opening the door, the room had an odor and the tile floor looked dirty - I wondered if the room had been cleaned. On closer inspection, the floor was chipped and stained but didn't have debris on it. The towels were fresh and the bathroom was in order, but the tub had mildew around the caulk and a large stain in the tub. There is very little lighting in these rooms - only one light by the door, lamps on the wall by the bed and one light on the desk. The next morning, my husband went to the lobby early for breakfast, which was overcooked eggs and sausage. He overheard the breakfast attendant tell another staff member that she was ”still throwing up”. I had breakfast elsewhere. When we left, there was no one at the desk to resolve credit card charges that should not have been made - the room was free on IHG points. Usually a small charge is made, then removed before checkout. We wondered if we were given a bad room because it was on points - not our experience on other stays. This hotel is in poor repair, not very clean and understaffed.
RR3DN3CKSBGIRLThe front desk employee was very polite & welcomed us immediately and got us checked in quickly. Hotel nice clean and quiet. The amenities were amazing especially our room with the jacuZzi tub. Breakfast was even delicious and fulfilling. We had an amazing time and definitely would come back to stay.
