We are staying as a group at this hotel. The only room types they said they had available was a king bed and a pull out sleeper sofa. I have stayed at the courtyard a few times and I called the hotel directly and said my 15 year old was and 8 year would they fit . I told them my son as over 6 foot tall. The front desk said yes. It accommodates two in this bed type. The Marriott web site for the past two months said there were two double beds available but the hotel still refused to release the room types. When I went to check in I again asked if there were two beds snd they said no. I checked again on Friday and still they says no two beds available . Even though though the direct Marriott site said they are available to book. I then advised them to cancel my room and I would rebook the room type and the manager said should could only give me one king bed. I advised her the web site did not say best available it let me choose a king or two doubles. I advised they would have to walk us to another hotel for two rooms, she said she would refuse since they had a room available with a king bed. I spoke to both Chelsea and Rebecca the front desk manager and assistant manager at the hotel, I would not recommend this hotel for a family of four. The single pullout is s chair and would probably work for anyone under 5. The front desk management lied directly to our faces that there wasn’t two bed rooms available.
I should preface this with that I have had nothing but positive and excellent experience with the Holiday Inn brand. I have stayed in numerous properties and have had nothing but a great experience. This is why I picked this hotel instead of the Residence Inn and the Courtyard nearby. This is the WORST Holiday Inn I have stayed bar none; I felt like I was in a Hampton Inn or a Howard Johnson the entire time. My main issue was cleanliness, or lack thereof. This hotel seems to fail at even the most basic of maintenance. I found candy wrappers all over my room. All of the walls had numerous scratches and huge black marks on them. The bathroom had hair all over it- and the toilet had stains all over it. The shower enclosure looked as if it had not been cleaned in months- mold all over and hair covering every surface, including the ceiling. When I arrived, the hallway which my room was in was filled with trash and boxes, with no housekeeping in sight. My ONE highlight were the beds. As bad as this hotel was, the beds were spotless, and were extremely comfortable. That, and the fact that the very modern lobby was beautiful, are my only positives. But this hotel fails at literally everything else besides looking pretty on the surface. I will be seriously considering never entering another Holiday Inn after this, and my opinion of IHG hotels has changed drastically. Maybe my room was the one bad room, but judging by other reviews, I'm not so sure that's the case...
I spent four weeks here at the Residence Inn in Farmington Hills, from September 26. 2022 to October 22, 2022. Overall the room was comfortable, the queen sized bed was comfortable, did like the kitchen area where I can head out to Kroger and Heartland Markets to buy groceries instead of relying of going out to restaurants every day. Was able to use the desk area to setup my workspace where I was able to do some work. Utilized both the fitness centers (didn't anticipate I was doing my workouts using the treadmill four days per week! Plus utilized the weights in my workouts) as well as the laundry facilities once per week (NOTE: Bring quarters to use the laundry facilities, it's $1.75 to use the washer and $1.50 to use the dryer. You could get quarters from the front desk or get rolls of quarters at the Chase bank that's across the street) They do have a 'Market' where you can buy bottled water and snacks, however it's more cost effective to just go to the Heartland Market that's nearby to buy such items. Only one negative - the frequency on my room being cleaned by housekeeping. Granted I was working in my suite during the regular work week, however housekeeping only cleaned my room once on Saturday (in which the replaced the bedsheets, towels and cleaned out the garbage cans) during the four weeks I was there. When I brought this to the attention to the front desk I was told housekeeping will come clean my room, however when I came back after being out for several hours they only emptied the garbage cans and replaced the towels. Parking was no issue - parking is free and is outside in front and in the back of the hotel. I did observe that some people were parking their cars at the nearby Holiday Inn or Courtyard by Marriott. Would I come back to the Residence Inn for another long stay...yes...it was nice experience 'living' in Farmington Hills, Michigan in a nice suite.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Farmington Hills - Detroit. I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
Continue to book here because of location but might have to change. Staff is not friendly and both check and check out clerks acted as if I was bothering them. This sets the tone of the stay. Had to navigate around unattended delivery cart to get to room 125. Room clean and quiet. Ice machine on first floor broken. Large breakfast area. Standard waffles, yoghurt, good fruit, fried eggs (not appetizing) and sausage. Nice common areas.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was very comfortable with mini fridge and microwave. The bed was big and comfort was a 7 out of 10. A/C unit was quiet. Toilet had super sucker pressure (you don't have to worry about clogging it) and the shower possibly had the BEST water pressure of any hotel I had every stayed at, it was great, felt like you walked out of a waterfall when you were done showering, very refreshing! The only downside to the room was the area around the sink was on the small side and the lighting around the sink need to be brighter. Breakfast was good, had your standards oatmeal, waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels but no muffins. Would stay here again, very quiet area on the weekend, and excellent value!

I come to this area every year for a classic car cruise and visit family. This is the closest hotel to my family. I have stayed here in years past and its been average. Nothing special but I don't spend a lot of time there to begin with. This visit the room was overcome with a musty odor. The only way to combat it was to run the A/C very high and keep the bathroom fanning running. After a day in the sun we would come back to this ice box. Without doing that the room smelled and none of the linens would dry. And it was't really that humid out. The Wifi was also very glitchy. These are enough factors that when I return next year I won't be coming back to this Hampton Inn.
We had a great experience at this location. The staff were friendly (especially at breakfast) and helpful. The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. Parking was available close to the entrance which made it easy to unload with the kids. Would stay again if we were back in the area.

RRCD109Note: This is a delayed review, stay was prior to the pandemic. I stayed here for a couple of months for a project. This hotel is meant to be for overnight stays while you are on the road - not for a longer term stay. It is right by a gas station, and the freeway. It's close to a couple of fast food chains and a supermarket though. Breakfast is the same each and every day, and the rooms were so-so, a bit dated. There was one rude front desk staff, but the shuttle driver and the lady who prepares the breakfast more than makes up for the front desk staff who seems to hate Asians. Nonetheless, I was able to rack up a lot of points.

GGuest UserHad to take a last minute business trip. Thankfully the Red Roof Inn had a vacant room. I was tired from my business trip. The front desk clerk Aahlayah checked me in. Transaction was quick and easy. She was very helpful and showed me where the vending machine and rooms were located. The area was decent. Nearby restaurants and gas stations in the area also. James my housekeeper made sure I had towels and room was comfy while I stayed.
GGuest UserI stayed here for four nights and liked it. Obviously, it's a Knights Inn and not a Ritz Carlton so temper your expectations accordingly. I would strongly encourage you to stay in the front building where the office is and avoid the back two buildings because it seemed like there were long-term people staying back there and gave it a shady vibe. Plus, the WiFi seemed a lot faster in the front building and the ice machine is in the lobby so more convenient. The room itself is clean and carpeted, and there is a large desk and a king bed. Fridge and microwave worked fine. The wall-mounted heater unit was kind of worn out but still functioned well. Parking was always available. The front office makes you talk through one of those plexiglass windows which is annoying so hopefully they get rid of that once COVID disappears. You will save about $8 per night by booking your room on RedLion.com versus paying cash upfront.
