Outstanding
AAlan PierceVery friendly and helpful staff. I had some trouble with the key card for the door to my room and the front desk person came up and helped me.
This new property scores well on the major points: Clean room, comfortable bed and quiet. However, the entire property has a very sterile, hospital-like appearance. Breakfast was edible but that's about it. Other than the cleaning staff, who was friendly and cheerful, the rest of the staff could learn to smile and say hello. If you can get a room at a reasonable price then this hotel is a good value. But at $350+ for one night, look elsewhere.
NNoviaCLove this booking, I was there for two nights. Hotel room is huge , bathroom is also huge, I like that it has a big sink table, which actually allows people to put their bathroom necessities on.
The self- laundry service is very reasonable in price. First time using.
The staff were all super nice and professional, and some even energetic. Can tell they like their job. Especially the cheerful guy at day time.
The cleaning lady also cleans daily
The swimming pool and gym are small, but enough
The breakfast is simple but decent
Things I think would love to have: 1) room slippers; 2) the big TV isn’t smart TV
00404LBWe traveled to Poughkeepsie to see a show at the Rhinebeck Center for Performing Arts. After checking a number of hotels, I chose the Holiday Inn Express as the location was good, price was right, and reader ratings were fine. I'm glad we chose the Holiday Inn Express. The room was well-appointed, staff was friendly, and breakfast offerings were fresh and plentiful, although I would have liked some non-sweetened cold cereal offerings. The only downside was that housekeeping made up our bathroom on the second morning, but not the bedroom. We advised the front desk, which made amends. We recommend it.
I have stayed at this location 4 or 5 times now in each room category they offer and it is always clean, quiet and friendly. Breakfast os the typical waffles /eggs/ meat /juice etc but it’s good. Staff is friendly and very accommodating when something is needed. Parking is easy and well lit. I have tried other hotels in the area and will never stay anywhere but here while in Poughkeepsie. This hotel has my business till my daughter is done with college.
GGuest User1. The reception staff is kind and courteous, the hotel has a rich breakfast
2. Convenient transportation around, convenient to buy daily necessities
The room is clean and tidy, well equipped
TTraveler61293057014My family and I stayed one night this past weekend. There are some definite areas in need of improvement at this location. To be fair, I'll start with the good. Check-in was easy and the front desk was friendly and helpful. The two queen sized beds were comfortable. The bathroom was stocked with Dove products like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and hand soap. The staff brought us extra towels (we had 2 in the room for a reservation for 4 people) and a blanket for the sofa bed. On the down side, the hallways smelled like a whole lot of bleach was used to clean something up, but never really got rid of the old odor. Our ”suite” was a main room with two queen beds and smaller room with a pull out couch and a desk. That room had an overhead light but no desk lamp. The mattress was awful and I feel guilty as a parent that my son slept on it. The AC/heating unit had a leak, so the carpet under it was completely soaked. In the bathroom, the shower curtain rod was coming loose from the wall so the curtain did not stay in place. This caused a bit of flood on the floor. Our room rate came with breakfast. It was not up to the level of free breakfasts I've gotten at Hampton Inn or Homewood Suites (no waffle maker!). I would not have paid the $12.99 posted for it. There was also an outdoor seating area that looked lovely on the website (not to mention a pool table that I couldn't find), but in reality was a few chairs behind the hotel next to a creek. The walk to the fitness center was confusing and a little creepy (I would avoid 100-level rooms). I'm sure someone will say that I should have brought these things to the attention of the staff, but on a one night stay it was not practical. There are many other hotels within a few miles of this one. They looked newer on the outside and I would choose any of them over this location in the future.
GGuest UserThe bathroom was quite small with no soaps for showering. Someone was smoking on balcony outside at night and the scent seeped right through the window of bathroom and made the whole room smell so bad.
JJamaicanprincess1269Clean rooms, bed is comfortable. I would definitely come back again. It's close to everything. The young lady at the desk was so pleasant and knowledgeable.
Jjdana1976We travel with family and friends it's a great location easy to access the lobby, very bright lighting around the building makes me feel more secured. Nice clean room, the hotel maintain good standard of the brand very professional employee's. The manager gives pride to this hotel.
