DDanielleBmoralesAfter an 8 hour day on the road my family and I made it to Brookings and needed a place to stay. We were exhausted! This hotel came up on my search and the reviews were good. We checked in with Matt. He is wonderful!! Excellent customer service. We got to put room with 2 queen beds and were pleasantly surprised. The room was large, clean and had every amenities we could have possibly hoped for. We got to cook breakfast in the kitchen the following morning. There was a laundry room and it was extremely reasonable. Matt have us laundry soap and dryer sheets. The let us have a later check out, so we could finish out laundry. Matt was absolutely wonderful!! I would go back to Brookings just to stay here. FABULOUS Experience!! Thanks Matt
GGuest UserWe splurged for a King Superior room with an ocean view. The room we were given was on the third floor, at the far end of the property from the office. When we attempted to go to our room, I couldn't get the elevator to work. So, I walked all the way back up to the office to see if there was some trick to operating it; a key or code to use. I was informed (at 10:30 PM), ”Oh yeah, that elevator hasn't worked for some time. We keep trying to get someone to fix it, but ...” I have a bad back and a serious heart condition, so I asked how was supposed to get over 100 pounds worth of luggage (this stop was part of a longer trip) up two flights of stairs. There was a frail, older woman working in the lobby, mopping the floor who offered to help. There was no way that was an option. I turned to the desk attendant and said, ”I am paying over $300 per night for this room and I have to drag luggage up those flights of stair? Is there nothing that can be done? She informed me that ”I am only the night auditor, so you will need to talk to the manager in the morning..” Well, that isn't really going to help, since I need my luggage and need a place to sleep TONIGHT. So, I wrestled the bags upstairs, and thankfully didn't die or cause any back injuries. The room was adequate, and the balcony and view of the ocean was lovely. There was a ”Message” light on the phone which flashed all night. I checked, there were no messages, but also no way to stop the flashing. I threw a wash cloth over it and went to bed. The fact that this elevator had not been working for some time, AND there was no mention on the website of having to navigate stairs to a third floor room is completely unacceptable.
PPaul DA last-minute booking as our accommodation was cancelled in Crescent City due to fires taking out the electricity - but turned out to be a really comfortable stay. Friendly service at check-in, cozy rooms. In an ideal world, they'd ***** the carpets out the rooms and replace them with floorboards as carpets stain so easily - so initial impression was a little underwhelming, but actually everything else was immaculate. Restaurant over the road was fine for dinner (and open late which apparently is a rarity in the US!) - service was better than the food, although the attached bar was nice with good local bars.
DdephalThe good first: The front desk clerk was friendly. The room (one of the deluxe ocean-view rooms) is really big, with a great balcony and great view. The room is equipped with a mini-fridge. It's a nice easy walk to the beach. The clerk let us plug our electric car in so we could trickle charge overnight. The not so good: The room was in desperate need of a refresh. The carpet was badly stained everywhere and just really gross, and the bathroom sink had a huge crack and was missing the drain stopper. The room was poorly lit, with an overhead light near the entrance and two small free-standing lamps; no lights on the (large) nightstands. There's a table with a pair of hard wooden chairs, but no light anywhere nearby and no comfy chair to sit in (except the rocking chairs outside--assuming it's not raining). The grab and go breakfast (which I know from a previous stay isn't great) isn't available until 8am, which doesn't work if you're getting an early start. In fact, the office isn't open until 8am.
GGuest UserI have personally stayed at this hotel before and was so excited. The front desk clerk was not very friendly and frankly kind of rude. The room even though it is older was clean but does need updating badly. I had a room closer to the road and the road noise was terrible. So loud. I did not have a good night sleep. Any way I booked a co-worker at the same hotel just two days ago. I used a app to book the hotel so the mix up could be with them. My co worker shows up and the clerk was very rude. Stated that there was nothing booked. Co worker had the confirmation email with him and the gentlemen wouldn't even look at it. Was turning him away and then said well there was a cancelation. He put him up in that room but charged him $20.00 dollars more than what was charged on web site. We won't be staying there again.
GGuest UserNice hotel with a very nice and secluded location on a ridge above Gold Beach. Very pleasant outdoor area with, among other things, benches, and barbecue facilities. This was a pleasant surprise and diversion from the motels that are usually right next to the main street or a freeway. We were greeted in a friendly and professional manner when we arrived, and I got a positive impression of the service. Seemed to be a well-run place. As for the rooms, this is a very standard Motel 6, as you would like to know it from countless another Motel 6. Decent level of cleanliness, although the floors could well be a little cleaner. Otherwise, there was a somewhat strange/old smell in the room we had, but it must be said that there was also a lot of smoke in Gold Beach due to wildfires not far from Port Orford. The smell in the room could be related to smoke. So, smoke from the wildfires spoiled the experience a bit, but of course this is not the hotel's fault. I would very much like to return to M6 in Gold Beach the next time I am on a road trip along the California and Oregon coasts.
GGuest UserCharming seaside location, a little dated, but still very affordable and well maintained. Stayed on the first floor, room was big and short walk to the beach with deck and water view. Comfortable bed, nice pool & hot tub. Friendly staff. Only compliant is more space is needed in the inside breakfast area. Guests had to wait for inside seating.
