My son and daughter had a hockey tournament in St Albans and I wanted to find a hotel that was close but not too close that we had to deal with a crazy busy hotel right by the rink...something low key to relax in between games! I booked the Residence Inn in Colchester for a few reasons: 1. pictures showed a hot tub 2. the rates were reasonable 3. it has great reviews. The hotel is super easy to get to. The lobby is very welcoming and all of the staff we interacted with were beyond helpful and very friendly. We were allowed to check in quite a bit earlier than the check in time which was a life saver. We were also allowed to check out a little later as well--biggest perks of our stay! Our room was very large and although we didn't need that amount of space, it was still really nice to have. Room was clean, however, there were two negatives: it had a funky smell when we first entered. It didn't bother anyone to the point of wanting to leave. The bedsheets in one room had a blue stain on them. It looked like toothpaste but it was enough to freak my 6 year old out! The biggest disappointment was walking into the pool area and finding out that they got rid of the hot tub :( Hotel website doesn't show a hot tub as an amenity...so this isn't anyone's fault! It was just a bummer. My kids quickly got over it! Just something to note if you see the hot tub in review pics...it is not there anymore. Overall we had an excellent stay and I would definitely stay again!
Stayed 3 nights. Check In/Out was super smooth, just used the app with no issues. The room was clean and updated. Everything worked as it should. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good with quite a few options and was always well stocked. There is a lot of seating available for breakfast which is not the case in some hotels. The lighthouse restaurant is adjacent but we did not go there during our stay. The hotel is less than a 10 minute drive from the airport and a short drive to downtown Burlington and Lake Champlain. Overall a great experience!

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I enjoy staying at different properties throughout the Hilton portfolio. On a recent quick trip up to Burlington, I decided to stay at this Doubletree. I found the property to be clean and spacious. While I wasn't able to actually choose a room through pre-check-in, I was assigned to a room at the end of the hall which was adequate for my needs. Despite facing the freeway interchange, noise was no factor. There was plenty of space for my belongings. The internet and TV worked fine, and there were enough outlets to charge my devices. Buffet breakfast in the Atrium was great as well. The only nit I have is that the property's web page advertises a ”free local shuttle” which I never got to use. I travelled to & from Burlington by Amtrak and would be at Union Station downtown. I called the hotel by phone during my travels to Burlington and was told that the shuttle would not be available when the train arrives shortly before 10 PM. OK.... I would take Uber. But they told me one would be available to take me downtown in the morning. When I inquired at check-in about a shuttle in the morning, I was told that it doesn't go to the train station but only goes to other locations. OK.... I'd Uber back as well. Round trip cost me over $60 because I had to reserve the hotel-bound trip in advance to ensure no long wait at 10 PM. Overall it was a great stay, and the location comes recommended (if you don't need a ride to travel there!)
Stayed at the Best Western Windjammer Inn Friday and Saturday night. We were in Burlington, VT for St. Michael’s College family weekend to see my granddaughter who’s a freshman this year. Enjoyed the stay at Windjammer, front desk were courteous and friendly, room was very clean, everything in working order, breakfast was good and although I didn’t go to the restaurant, many people I spoke with said it was also very good. Grounds were well cared for. Looks like whoever is managing this Best Western is doing a great job. I will definitely stay again next year.
This hotel is branded as a Delta but it really shouldn’t. Marriott is doing a real disservice to the Delta brand with this hotel. It is clearly an old motel that received a quick and cheep flip and got put the Delta name on it. The room was fine and clean even if the layout is really weird as you enter the room in the middle of the washroom… The hallways looks old even with the newish carpet. The pool is of a great size but all the furniture around it is rusted! The pool and hot tub really need a deep clean! People are creating graffiti by carving their name in the grime. It seems like they are only adding more and more chlorine. In fact as soon as you start the jet in the hot tub, the fumes makes it hard to breathe. So basically an average hotel nothing more.
In town for 1 night to see a show at Higher Ground and wanted to walk so we could partake in adult beverages. Hotel was super close and I’ve stayed at some amazing Laquinta’s before so booked it. Upon entry there was no one to check us in, but there was a sign to be patient so we sat and waited - for over 10 minutes. Ok we get it staff shortages impact everyone these days. Got checked in really easy and up to our room on the 2nd floor. Elevator was at least 15 degrees hotter than the rest of hotel. Enough to feel like a heat wave. Right off elevator we could see wear and tear on the hotel - ok it’s an older place - that’s ok. Got to our room, the door handle was broke. Lock still worked so we went with it. Room was surface clean but there stains on floor and both chairs and ottoman. Bed was clean but we only got 3 pillows. We had to fight for the spare lol. Bathroom was clean but no hot water at 8am! I mean like warm at best!! Towels were really scratchy as well. For the price paid for the room I would have expected it to be a bit cleaner and more care put into the place.
