4.3/5
Excellent
JJacques NOverall, the hotel is clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was aloof and borderline rude, as we had to wait a full twenty minutes to be assigned a room and receive our keys, eventhough my wife and I had a fully paid reservation. No apologies, no smiles, no proper explanation… Breakfast is very basic; no fruits except for long « past-due » bananas. We do not intend to use this particular hotel in the future.
GGuest UserCody, who was working the desk, was very helpful and polite. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Hotel is off the road, so it was quiet but easy access. Breakfast had many choices and was clean. The Blue Ocean restaurant was close, and food was excellent. Lots of room to park large vehicles or towing vehicle at this hotel.
GGuest UserWe are snowbirds travelling on our yearly driving trip to Florida. We have been stopping at this Quality Inn for many years - both on our southern and return northern trips. The room was comfortable and quiet, and both my wife and I slept well. Our morning rituals include me getting moving 1st, and then I venture to the breakfast bar to take cereal, yogurt, juice and coffee back to the room for a morning start to our day. However, the desk clerk advised me that I couldn't have food in the room because customers had dropped food on the carpet, and I was only allowed a cup of coffee for each of us. I was disappointed to say the least, especially when my wife pointed out that if the hotel didn't allow food in the room, why was there a microwave and a fridge there? I went across the street to McDonalds and brought back a couple of breakfasts. We will not stay here in the future. BTW, there is a Day's Inn on the same exit the is very comfortable and reasonably priced.
GGuest UserDO NOT STAY HERE! Short version: bed bugs, no refund, cleaning deposit only refunded if you stay after 9 am or return the paper BS Long version: I cannot emphasize this enough don't stay here. We wasted 110$ and an hour of our trip. Me husband checked in and was told there was a $50 cleaning deposit should the room be trashed. The money would be given back after someone checked the room. However the person who checks doesn't come in until 9 am. If you leave before you are SOL and no deposit is returned. So, the owner essentially gets an extra $50 from anyone leaving before 9am. Can you say SCAM? OH, it gets worse. We walk in the room, smelling of feet, and check the bed. Standard practice in traveling. To find blood stains, bugs and bug skeletons (RIP bed bug). In a state of shock and disgust over my first encounter with a bed bug in it's natural habit. I go to the front desk. Tell them I need a refund and I will go no worries. The lady behind the desk calls the manager. Who lives upstairs, you can see his hoard from the window . He says we have to call the third party the room was booked under. Cool, we call. Priceline says they have to call and confirm the cancellation. Cool. The representative comes back and says....... the lady behind the desk says, you must contact the manager in the morning. Little did she know.....I am in the parking lot! I confront her on her lie. I'm sure she was scared of being fired if she accepted the cancellation. All she had to do was say yes to Priceline that we could cancel with a full refund. All she had to do was say yes. She calls the manager again begging him to come down. He says he is busy.....by the light from the window he was watching TV. That we would have to call in the morning. All he had to do was say ok cancel it. No he was too busy. With our $60 room and $50 cleaning fee. We left, with no resolution. Just don't do it, 30 minutes up the road is a sparkling clean Hylton only $40 more bucks a night. Much cheaper than bed bug extermination.
