I spent three nights here. Overall decent place and enjoyable stay. No regrets. List of pros and cons follow. Cons: - A little bit pricier than expected / what I value it at. - Cleanliness could have been a bit better (specifically the sheets), especially for how much the overnight stay was. Pros: - Complimentary breakfast was good. - Beach-facing and very spacious room. - Conveniently placed with respect to the 101 freeway. - Restaurants and downtown Crescent City within walking distance. - Friendly staff / owners. All things considered, would definitely consider staying here again if ever in the area.

My wife and I drove 7 hours to Crescent City to celebrate our 45th anniversary. It will be our most memorable, but not in a good way. We noticed an odor as soon as we entered the room, and upon opening the toilet found it plugged and filled with excrement. (see attached photo) I immediately returned to the front desk and calmly asked the desk clerk to move us to another room with a functioning (and not disgusting) toilet. Although there were many vacant rooms at that point, he refused. I then asked that the housekeeping staff return and unplug and clean the toilet, but he informed me that there was no one available. I find that interesting because in several reviews the management told other unhappy guests their staff is available 24/7 to help mitigate issues, and would have sent our housekeeping team to inspect a room if they had been aware of a problem. He was clearly aware of our issue and refused to address it. I then asked to speak to the manager and was told the person was unavailable. The clerk then offered me a discount to stay in a room with a gross and unusable toilet, and he wasn't joking. He then said the best he could do is to give me a plunger. I asked him to take care of it himself and he refused. At this point I was quite angry and he simply said he would refund our money and we should leave. There were no rooms available for over 80 miles and that at 3x the price which we couldn't afford, so we ended up driving another 7 hours back home. What was most infuriating was the totally dismissive attitude of the clerk from the onset. If he had even shown the slightest concern for our situation or any interest in addressing it, we could have calmly taken care of it. He could have offered to call in the cleaning staff that clearly didn't do their job, contacted the manager, called a plumber, or offered to help us himself. He did none of these. I still can't believe that you would expect a guest to unplug and use a dirty and disgusting toilet left by a previous guest. Heaven knows what diseases one might catch using it in this condition. This was truly the worst lodging experience I have endured in 50 years of travel.

The hotel is a 30-minute drive from Mangrove National Park. It is a fishing port by the sea. The sea view room is very good. The dinner is served in the hotel restaurant. The seafood is recommended. It is a set meal and you can choose salad or soup. Creamy soup is very good, steak is not recommended, breakfast Western style is relatively simple, the official business will usually arrange best western personally feel that it is worth recommending, the hotel is not far from a casino, a lot of slot machines, if you are bored at night, you can spend some time, Driving 6.7 minutes

Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. We would recommend the AC gets checked for noise level but overall it was good.

The proprietress is very enthusiastic and very good. When looking for a place, I feel that I am exploring, but there is no winter after arriving at the hotel. It is recommended to experience the log mahogany hotel experience.

One plus - check in clerk was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that is the only positive. Do yourself a favor and choose another hotel! Room wreaked of bleach, yet the floor was filthy. Mattress needs to be replaced. Toilet flushes every time the room next door or below uses the plumbing. No water pressure. Coffee pot was filthy! Sign out front, and website say you have HBO, yet the TV doesn’t have the channel available. Bugs in the room, sink did not drain, no water pressure in the shower, hair in the towels and on the floor, stains on the walls, noise from the surrounding rooms is terrible, grounds are not being kept up, take the can of paint away from maintenance and spend money to replace the old broken items. Stayed two nights, not more than 4 hours of sleep each night. After being awoken at 3:30 am on the second night we just got up and left. Tried to check out when leaving, the desk agent was no where to be found. Grounds are just as disappointing as the room. Terrible experience.

The cover is not dare to move, a lot of ash, set in advance, arrived at 10 o'clock in the evening, check the name, directly check in, no guarantee and deposit. Parking is free.
