Initially we contacted the sales department for a welcome party at the restaurant for 15 people, a few of whom had hotel reservations for a couple nights stay (including us), as they were coming in from out of state. My wife and I explained that this was a separate party from a rehearsal and we wanted to just order appetizers for everyone and pay for a couple of rounds of drinks. As the group size grew to 23, we were then told (the week before) that we could no longer just order drinks and appetizers and would need to order a complete dinner off their special dinner menu. They claimed it wasn’t worth their kitchen’s effort to serve us just appetizers and drinks. We explained that we were expecting to pay around $600-$800, as our group likes to drink and eat and that several couples would probably stay for dinner after. It didn’t matter, the sales department just said we couldn’t have our party at the hotel restaurant unless everyone ordered dinner. We ended up having a party at the local Gardner Ale house which turned out really great! We spent over $900. Later, my wife and I returned to the hotel and went to the restaurant, just to see how busy it was. At about 8pm and they may have had just 50 people in the restaurant on a Saturday night. Seems to be a poor management decision as a couple of our guests ended up canceling their reservations after hearing about the last minute change from the hotel. In addition, we did stay at the hotel. Our room was physically dirty (needed a good vacuuming) and there was someone smoking in the room across the hall, (we could smell it in the hall and in our bathroom). This was the first night we were there. After mentioning this to staff they came down and agreed they could smell it, but just ended up spraying air freshener. They said they weren’t sure which room it was coming from. The smoking continued until the next day.
This was our fifth Great Wolf Lodge experience. We've done Fitchburg and Charlotte each two times. I noticed the construction advisory when I made the booking, but I failed to appreciate how extensive the construction was. We were four adults with a two year old. He just loved the toddler play area that was open. Having been there with our granddaughter previously, we expected there was plenty to entertain him. But the other side wasn't just mostly closed, there were NO chairs or tables. We played with him in the basketball area, but then returned to the side with toddler area. We had the Royal Wolf Den suite with separate king bedroom. It was spacious and comfortable, but really could use another chair or two. Multiple TVs were great for down time. Having a suite accessible by (rather slow) elevator was way better than being on the far end of resort as we were other times. GWL staff are always awesome. Questions promptly and correctly answered. Directions cheerfully provided. Breakfast was good, but far less offered than our previous stays. Server Carlos was EXCELLENT! Omelet order options were awesome as was our crispy bacon. We had reserved late check out and planned a relaxing morning, But before 11am, our two year old had done the toddler area since opening and we decided to go ahead and check out. Because of the construction, this wasn't our best experience. I hope to return after construction is completed.

Outdated and overpriced. No amenities to speak of, no microwave in your room, no housekeeping unless you request it, no access to the pool unless you go to the front desk to ask for permission and they have to let you in, no continental breakfast, BUT they do give you a cookie upon check-in. By far one of the worst hotel experiences I've encountered. Hotel was booked with multiple youth organizations that were totally out of control, running, screaming, kicking walls, f-bombs, scratching their names into the metal doors of the elevator, etc. when I called the front desk to complain they told me it was happening all over the hotel and there wasn't much they could do. Guests no associated with these organizations had no use of the pool since there were no less than 25 kids in the pool on both nights we were there. When I complained to the general manager the next day, the front desk responded that they would discount my room by half and that if I wanted to leave it would be okay. Since there are no other hotels in the immediate area and I was there for family medical reasons I had no choice but to stay. Disappointed that the general manager didn't have the courtesy of responding to us and that they allowed this to continue for two nights.
I stayed here back in 2020 and in 2021 and then again this year(2023). The rooms definitely improved, with upgraded ac units, beds, and lightning. Looks a lot more modern now! However the cleaning product they use on the floor can be a bit sticky if you're walking around barefoot, so bring some slippers or socks! Also the shower had a random crack in it at the bottom but it didn't leak so I didn't care much for it. If you're sensitive to noises, I recommend leaving the AC on fan mode so it's not turning off and muffles the car noises from outside. There are no microwaves or mini fridges in the room, but downstairs has a place to buy sodas or water, an ice machine, and vending machine that has snacks as well as tooth paste and razors. Also a washer and dryer to wash your clothes! The location is also conveniently located since there are food places all around it plus a CVS right down the street. Honestly, it's a good motel for the price. It provides a safe place to sleep, soft beds, a hot shower, a TV for entertainment, wifi, and ac/heater. I'm not picky nor am I the type to think that a motel will feel like my home so I'm very satisfied with my experience. Also to note, the front desk people are lovely and kind to me everytime I visit. Never once had a bad experience with them!
