had an absolutely lovely time staying at this hotel albeit the fact it’s 20-mins walk from the pier and another added 10-min walk to the beach area. but this made me make full use of enjoying the room, pool, and some of the bar’s food, and doing nothing and be in the moment love the studio room for it’s size- felt like home away from home. had a beautiful view overlooking the pool as well. only downside is that somehow mosquitoes manage to enter the room even though windows and doors are closed! but they are easy to kill so it’s okay. staff are friendly; will come back to stay again if i ever return!

1.5 meters bed, you can add an extra bed, but you have to charge separately. Hotel location is very good, the room is very close to the beach! You can hear the sound of the waves at night. This hotel also has a room directly facing the sea.

Great location on the beach with everything you need 2 mins walk away. Great white sandy beaches. Lots of bars and restaurants which ever beach you walk to. Hire a scooter for an hour or a day and explore. Regular baht buses right outside hotel. Room was very modern with fan and air con. Nice big bathroom, bed on the firm side. Buffet breakfast nothing special with mix of Thai and European. This place however is very noisy at night with very loud music right up to midnight. Then very noisy again at 7.30am in the morning with all the staff shouting, builders arriving and breakfast starting. We had a very enjoyable couple of days and it's a great place to forget all your troubles.

A family of three adults and one child came to Koh Samet from Bangkok. Because they only booked three days in advance, other hotels near Diamond Beach no longer had quadruple rooms or family rooms, so they chose this hotel. excellent: 1. The location is good, there are two 7-11s on the next street, and it only takes three minutes to walk to Diamond Beach; 2. He has a restaurant, and the accommodation includes four breakfasts. The external price seems to be 179 or 189 baht (Picture 5️⃣, Picture 6️⃣). I had dinner at his house on the second night. Except that the Tom Yum soup was slightly worse, Curry crab, grilled pork neck, grilled chicken wings and kale are all good in taste and presentation; inferior: 1. The room is on the first floor, a bit dark, similar to a domestic guest house; 2. Mosquitoes can easily enter the room🦟, and there are several little ones in the bathroom🪳; 3. The service attitude at the front desk was mediocre. There was no cleaning during the two-night stay. They just put towels and drinking water on the chairs outside the room; Overall evaluation, after all, I mainly sleep in the room every day, so overall it’s okay.

Before, reserved for 2 nights. And come to reserve another night Very convenient to travel, very close to the beach, the morning is the perfect thing. Wake up to swim over the beach, white sand, clear water, not a lot of people. Take a walk in a chill, chic, enjoy the morning breeze and the sun. That is not lonely, not crowded, very calm. Giving extreme privacy, the bed is very soft.

Upon check-in, they gave us the opportunity to look at the rooms and choose the one we liked best from several. The downside is that for 4 nights there is no cleaning, not even the courtyard area and rugs where dust and sand flies. Only the towels were replaced and the space was added. supplies and water. The restaurant at the hotel has a beautiful view, but in the evenings it can be busy and the forced wait for food can take an indefinite period of time.. One evening we were not able to have dinner, we had to move to the neighbors, Cafe bar in the middle of the beach with a billiards table, excellent service, young guys, the waiters are great, and sociable, and you can eat deliciously and quickly. If desired, you can rent a bike on the spot ~400 baht. If you go up to the central road, there is a tuk-tuk parking about 15 minutes away.

I’ve stayed Samed Cabana approximately half a dozen times over the years and always enjoy coming back to Koh Samed. Vongdeuan is a beautiful white sanded crescent shaped beach with warm turquoise waters. Samed Cabana is broken up into prime beachside bungalows which are in desperate need of an upgrade and smarter new rooms in two up two down blocks of four away from the beach around a nice swimming pool. Prices remain high at over 3000 baht a night for the bungalows as they are a popular weekend getaway for Bangkok Thai families. Even though the wooden beachside bungalows have a fantastic location they are extremely old, poor lighting, uncomfortable bed, cold showers and limited power points. I paid over 3000 baht for a supposedly double bed and for two singles to be put together with single sheets. It came across as very poor. Even when I managed to come here during Covid and was the only westerner on the beach, the prices never dropped,so obviously the hotel are happy with the situation. I noticed the hotel this visit had been taken over by a new company so hopefully they will implement measures to improve the very old beachside bungalows. I still love visiting Koh Samed but will give Samed Cabana a miss until bungalows refurbished and maybe prices go down.

This hotel is definitely OVERPRICED This is the third time of staying here over a 5 year span and nothing has changed for the good The rooms are very very basic with A/C but no fans the bathrooms are very poor and the water stops a lot for no reason We stayed for 10 nights but the buffet breakfast was only available for 2 mornings, the staff would offer a very small breakfast menu which the owner called a la carte 🤣 The staff werw very friendly and also very helpful but they can only do soo much without the tools The owners of this hotel need to put a good bit of money into this hotel rather than just covering up the holes They are relying on the beauty of the island to carry them and their prices This hotel does nothing at night to attract customers for a drink or to have some food The room was cleaned now and then as the cleaner didn't speak any Thai or English so it was hard to communicate with her It seems a lot of the time rhe staff are standing around doing nothing with the same couple of members working night and day We will not be staying here for a 4th time unless there are big changes made to the upkeep If you are going to stay ask for a room at the bottom of the hill as I felt sorry for the customers having to climb the hillside to get to their rooms The 5 island tour turned into a 3 island tour with one being visited twice ??? And as soon as they get to the first island they stay for 2 hours and call it lunch, which was melon rice and pineapple Not sure if we would visit Koh Samet again when there are better islands but we are very sure we would never stay here again

We stayed for 4 nights here. The location was pretty good and we were right on a beach, which made it nice for swimming. They do have a great pool too. It wasn't overly busy when we were there. But there were large groups coming and going, but they weren't that noisy. The breakfast is basic, but you do get to sit out and have a fantastic view looking out over the bay. The only problem I really had with our stay was the tap water, there was a slight discoloration. I didn't drink from the tap anyways and also had bottled water. It is relatively private too. Our room was spacious enough and we could sit outside on the balcony. For me it was relaxing and in a good location. The staff were very friendly and happy to help.

GGuest UserComfortable location. Almost in the center of the island. Like in the distance from the noisy shopping center, but in step-to-step availability. Like not on the beach, but it is near the road. The rooms and the hotel itself have all the rest (including free shoes, carpets and beach towels). The room has free water, bonus is sneaking and juice in boxes (updated daily when cleaning). Hosts' responsive attitude to the hosts. Breakfasts may seem uniform, but hot for order and several kinds of it. Plus having a coffee machine for breakfast is a rare thing for the Yuva hotels of recent time. There is a small shop at the hotel. The truth works until 7 p.m. and the prices are slightly higher than in ”7/11,” but it is very convenient that under the hand, in the conditions of the island.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Ploy Sea a couple of weeks ago for 3 nights. The hotel was fairly quiet and so they very kindly upgraded our room to a sea view. Staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. In particular a lady who worked on the front desk called Ratchadaporn. She was amazing and helped us so much. The food in the restaurant was a good standard with plenty of choice and the sea front was just idillic. Looking forward to returning again soon.

GGuest UserI’ll start by saying that the hotel’s surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. The beach is one of the best on the island - clean and tranquil. It made spending time in the hotel a delight. And overall, we had a really memorable time - which was enhanced by exploring the island on motorbikes every day (which you can rent from the hotel). However, there are a number of areas where there could be significant scope for improvement and which, if improved, could make this a much better class of hotel. These are primarily: 1. There was repeated miscommunication with the hotel staff, who generally-speaking (with the exception of one or two receptionists) have poor English. It would of course be unreasonable to expect everyone to speak perfect English; that’s not my criticism here. But what I will say is that a lack of common language between us and the hotel staff made asking questions, even simple ones, about our trip difficult and led to mistakes. 2. The food is really poor at the hotel restaurant, Breeze. We had expensive Thai food which was inedible in part and the only bad meal which we have had during our two week stay in Thailand. Until improved, I’d suggest going to other restaurants on the island - Banana Bar is a real highlight. 3. The rooms which we were first shown to were unacceptably far away from the main hotel and up a number of flights of steps. We asked to change and were moved with no questions asked, which was a great result for us. We thought the hotel dealt with that issue brilliantly. We wondered how often they had encountered this issue having shown people to those rooms. And to be honest, those rooms shouldn’t really be hired out at all unless it is for a serious discount and it’s made clear to guests when they book. 4. Parts of the hotel feel unloved and a bit neglected to be honest - I don’t want to be too harsh here as it may be that the hotelier hasn’t been able to put as much money back into the resort following COVID and it’s aftermath. In particular, the room showers could do with an update. And generally there is an outdated feel to the hotel which could do with being modernised - the furniture in the common parts, the shower by the pool, etc. For the reasons above and taking into account the price paid for our stay, I would give Ao Prao three stars, but my lasting feeling is that with a bit more money, love and attention to detail, it could become a four or five star in the future.

GGuest UserI'm a professional travel agent and travel expert. I inspect hotel throughout Asia for 6 months already. Big hotel chains has hosted me for a reviews in media in my country. Bofore leaving Thailand I decided to spend some time on a beautiful beach Ao Cho of Samet Island. That's the most beautiful beach here with clear cristal waters and white sand. The resort itself is very old, Iean The Grand View Ao Cho redort which manages Tropical Samet Resort. And Tropical Samet Resort is a newly built part of it. The construction looks very good, but only looks. It is very bad done in details. I stay on a standard room on th second floor. Good bed, no furniture at all. No table, no any chair. So you will not be able to work eith your notebook for some time if you need. The shower is only the wall shower. So when you walk in from the beach you can not only just wash your legs off the sand, you gonna need take your all body shower. It's very inconvenient. For ladies especially, there is only one mirror in the bath room and there is no light to see your face appropriately. So, forget about making a good makeup. There's no safebox in the room. Pay attention to it! You will have to take all your valuables and belongins with you always! No any special place to allicate your luggage. No shelves. The good thing is that you sleep in a new bed. And the room is fresh. But it will be downgraded quickly because the quality of works is so poor. The locker in the door is electronic but it is shacking like it is broken. The restaurant of the resort is very expensive. And the service is very slow and bad. Today I had a dinner. There were only two tables occupied. I waited for my club sandwich for 30 mins. I also ordered hot latte and tgey brought me cappuccino. Ok, I decided to check and ordered latte again. Same. They brought me cappuccino, bitter cappuccino again. Although the restaurant has wide variety of coffee in the menu. And it's definitely supposed to understand the difference between latte and cappuccino. I waited for another cup of coffee 10 mins)) What could be easier to push the button in the coffee machine)) Also how come to mix ketchup and maionese? The chef, where are you from? Are you from far resorted village from the mountains in Thailand? For those travellers who wish to stay here and enjoy the best beach, the hotel is still in shape noting the fact that even bad bad resorts on the island are all full because of high demand now, I advise you to eat in a small cafe like a rasta-bar on the beach. The service is very quick, very delicious, even soups and 2 times cheaper then in the hotel restaurant. Have a safe and enjoyable travel.

GGuest UserFirst, I chose Koh Samet because I asked a local Thailand friend which island has not been overdeveloped since my early days coming to Thailand in the 1990s. His response was ”head to Koh Samet”. I looked for a value hotel on one of the more southern, less developed beaches which led me to Wong Duean Bay and the Vongdeuan Resort. The pool was a big draw. With the low tide being pretty extreme, it is really nice to have the salt water pool to cool off in and swim laps. The food seemed pretty authentic to me. With mainly Thai visitors coming in on the weekends it figures the food would be good at the Vongdeuan Resort. :) The staff were wonderful and always so fun to share a story or two with. The beach area all along the bay was extremely clean with no plastic on the beach or garbage in the water. This is a big plus when going to the shore in SE Asian countries. There are several beach restaurants but none of them had loud music, at least during the weekdays when I was there. It is definitely a sleepy and peaceful place to enjoy the water at high tide as well as the white sand beach for walks.

GGuest UserThe hotel has mini villa type rooms, each with a good-sized balcony to enjoy the beautiful foliage planted all around. The rooms are large, airy, sp****, and super clean. Bathroom size is good too, and all amenities are provided. The bed is one of the softest ones I've ever slept on. Absolutely loved it! Check-in and check-out was smooth, the staff is warm. There's a shortcut which takes you to the main Sai Kaew Beach in a minute's walk. It is also easily walkable (15 mins) from the main ferry pier (Nuan Thip). The hotel did not have a restaurant yet (which we knew before booking), but I did see some construction going on, so they could be adding one in the future, But there's plenty of restaurants on the beach, so no worries there. We had an immensely satisfactory and comfortable stay. Would recommend to all travelers.

GGuest UserGreat location on main beach and decent beach bar area (live band WAY too loud). Room was a decent price but a bit weird: downstairs bathroom, bedroom upstairs above it. But the staff are not friendly at all, the bins & ashtrays around the resort are not emptied, the bread from the bakery is not fresh and the maids leave the corridors in a real mess during the day. But to be fair, service across the whole of Samed it pretty bad - and I’ve been going there for 35 years! But this is a place we won’t bother with a second time.

GGuest UserThis is a very nice accommodation , consisting of a a main open alley with rooms on each side of the hall way , there is a reception area which sell drinks and at the end of the short alleyway there is a lovely cafe which sell fruit, coffees, smoothies , juices , and croissants and various toasts topped with fruit etc and they sell a nice burger and chips also, this is on the beach with loungers and bean bags and other options if you want to stay off the sand , some of the staff are friendly and smiley and some are not. the rooms are cleaned when requested no problem just leave your key at reception, the location is ideal , 5 minute walk to 7/11 and the village , I have to say this accommodation is idyllic with its thatch roofs and minimalistic style , I loved it here and I will stay here again , the only negative I had about the place is they didn’t clean the rubbish from the beach , the beach is the reason we go here … only 1 or 2 businesses on this beach clean the rubbish regularly , all the others do not clean up and it is unsightly , all the businesses on this island should all make sure it is clean all of the time .

MMarinaThe hotel is conveniently located, but tuk-tuks do not bring you to it, you have to walk through the courtyards from the bus stop, the first time we thought we would not find it, then we got used to it when you know the way. The location is convenient, on the 1st line, but perpendicular to the sea, so the windows overlook the backyard and the restaurant toilet. Apparently, during the low season, the restaurant staff got used to sitting there, talking, playing with the children, it was difficult to relax during the day, there was constant noise outside the window. Even when we asked them to be quieter, after some time they gathered there again and talked endlessly loudly, watched videos, played games. Then they moved to the area in front of the reception, but they talked so loudly that the noise still interfered with rest. At the same time, you will not find employees in the restaurant when you need to order food or pay, they are all relaxing there for their own pleasure. The hotel has its own sun loungers on the beach, but the restaurant staff tried to kick us out from there on the first day and insisted that we should order something in the restaurant, this spoiled the impression, of course. It is strange that the hotel has a restaurant, but no breakfast, it would be more convenient with breakfast. At 9 am, large groups of Chinese tourists are brought to the restaurant, in principle, as in other neighboring restaurants on the first line. The room is not bad, but old, the bed is comfortable, the TV only has Thai channels. The toilet in the bathroom is leaking, the faucet, apparently the same is on the floor above, because water was dripping from the ceiling and there is mold on the ceiling, and in the toilet itself there is no ventilation and a terrible smell of mold. There is no toilet paper, in front of the entrance to the toilet there is a holder with thin napkins, which is very inconvenient. We lived on the 1st floor, since among us there were people with disabilities, in front of the room there is a table and two chairs, but sitting in front of the restaurant toilet is not at all pleasant. Also, the employees in this place eat their own food and sometimes the smells are very unpleasant. The hotel is for very unpretentious visitors, but the sea is wonderful and two steps from the beach. On the main street there are many restaurants, massages, two 7-11, currency exchange. It's a couple of minutes' drive from the ferry.
