We enjoyed the comfortable accommodations and idyllic setting, overlooking a stunning, green valley dotted with lowing cows. Our hosts, Shona and David, were warm and welcoming (despite our rather late-evening arrival) and were very kind and accommodating during our stay. Kauri Lodge is located in an excellent central location for visiting the Waitomo Caves, Rotorua, and Lake Taupo, among other interesting destinations. We recommend Kauri Lodge for anyone looking for a homey, rustic, farm stay experience. Thank you, Shona and David!
We had such a great time at Lake Karapiro Lodge. The room and views were gorgeous. And Ed and Ann were wonderful hosts! They made coffee and breakfast to-order every morning for each guest, and we truly enjoyed conversation with them and the other guests around the breakfast table. It was a very different, and welcome, experience after more than a week of city hotels. WiFi was a bit touch-and-go, but so was 4G. It seems like the area in general doesn't have great reception, but we were still able to get things done that we needed, like bookings for later in our trip. We highly recommend this Lodge for anyone who is unsure- it was a perfect place to get away from the city!

My Mum and I had a 2 night stay at Cambridge TOP 10 Holiday Park, passing through for an event in Hamilton. We booked one of the Executive Studio Suites, a comfortable, clean and tidy suite. Reception team was welcoming and helpful. Only a block from a few shops, which we walked to one evening and under a 5 minute drive into town. Would recommend it..
Stayed for business, this was my third visit to Hidden Lake Hotel and it will be the only place I stay in Cambridge/Hamilton going forward as nothing else compares. The rooms are clean and spacious, very comfortable beds and pillows and nice and quiet rooms. The restaurant is to be mentioned too as I had dinner and breakfast there with room service and as a picky eater I was very impressed! All the staff are very helpful and friendly which really adds to the stay and check in/out was quick and efficient which I appreciate. See you again soon!
The rooms were clean, and tidy. Beds are comfy and decent pillows. Great kitchen facilities with a nice balcony to sit on and enjoy the local atmosphere. The new owners are very hospitable. Good amount of off road parking. Lovely cafe near by and a beautiful Thai restaurant next door. Convenient to walk into town or head to the local Saturday markets
We had a room with a king size bed and it was very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy but the kitchen oven was something from the dinosaur era (no joke) and this is not a purposely built motel its old flats that have been turned into a motel. The shower had great pressure but oddly it had a window half way down the wall so the water goes all over the window sill and you cant open it to let steam out as then everyone would be able to see you. They didn't supply any shampoo or conditioner only soap. The TV had sky but is small and there is no where to sit outside to enjoy a drink or have any privacy. We paid $170.00 for the night and I think that's terrible for the quality of this motel.
This little hotel tucked away is so quiet. There is no traffic noise. The hosts were so polite and obliging. My room was very large and sparkling clean. It is in a great location with an easy walk to Good Union for dinner. I wouldn’t hesitate to book there again, in fact I had planned to stay one night and then go to Auckland to be closer to the airport but decided to stay an extra night at this hotel and drive straight to the airport on my last day in New Zealand.
