Onze eerdere ervaringen met De Jonckheer waren zeer positief, maar helaas voldeed ons recente verblijf niet helemaal aan onze verwachtingen. Bij het boeken hadden we specifiek gevraagd om een kamer met een tweepersoonsmatras in plaats van twee aparte bedden. Ondanks de vriendelijke ontvangst kregen we echter een kamer toegewezen met twee losse bedden. Toen we dit aan de receptie meldden, kregen we een onvriendelijke reactie vanuit een kantoortje achter de balie, waarbij ons werd verteld dat een upgrade niet mogelijk was omdat ze volgeboekt waren. Dit was teleurstellend, vooral gezien het feit dat we dit verzoek een paar dagen van tevoren al hadden doorgegeven zonder enige tegenreactie. Bij het inchecken werd ons gevraagd hoe laat we wilden ontbijten. We gaven aan rond 09.00u / 09.30u te willen ontbijten, wat genoteerd werd. De volgende ochtend arriveerden we om 09.30u in de ontbijtzaal, maar tot onze verbazing was men al aan het opruimen. Gelukkig deed een attente medewerkster haar uiterste best om ons alsnog van een ontbijt te voorzien, waardoor zij een lichtpuntje werd tijdens ons verblijf. Bij het uitchecken ondervonden we vertraging omdat de receptioniste druk bezig was met een telefoongesprek over een restaurantboeking. Haar communicatie klonk nogal neerbuigend, wat niet bijdroeg aan een positieve ervaring. Een andere gast die wilde inchecken kreeg een formulier toegeschoven met de begeleidende tekst ”Dit invullen”. Wij verbleven in het hotel vanwege de uitvaart van een familielid en hadden dus best wat haast. Helaas werden we niet efficiënt geholpen. Uiteindelijk besloten we dus maar om online uit te checken en vertrokken we zonder enige begroeting van de receptioniste. Samenvattend, hoewel De Jonckheer een heel mooi en comfortabel hotel is waar we graag verblijven, is er duidelijk ruimte voor verbetering, met name op het gebied van klantenservice aan de receptie.

Booked for 3 nights, my wife for work and me tagging along for a break. Hotel appearance is pleasant enough and short walk into centre of town. However, mid-twenties outside and no aircon in any rooms. Construction work going on so aircon turned off. According to hotels website, construction should be finishing today, but apparently not!! Constant banging and drilling all day - impossible to work in the room! Reception not able to give us another room as we will hear the noise everywhere.,,though it will only be during the day up to 5/6pm!!!! Oh that’s ok then…we’ll go and sit in the park all day until they’ve finished for the day shall we…,bloody ridiculous!! It seems as long as they state on their website that there is construction work going on (even beyond the date stated), then that gives them carte blanche to do what they like! Frankly, that’s appalling customer service and we won’t be staying here again in the future. Save yourselves the pain and stay somewhere else!

The hotel carries both names because it's located in two buildings. Be aware though, that this is not a hotel for anyone with mobility issues. Neither building seems to have a working lift and there are some extremely steep stairs if you are located in the Tulip Hotel. The rooms are not very big but they do have everything you need (although I couldn't get my heating to work). Breakfast costs extra and is not cheap, but there is an amazing selection of hot and cold foods and the staff will happily bring you any type of coffee you wish. The staff are lovely and very helpful. There is a nice large bar area for relaxing in. I would think this hotel would be great for people on business on a budget. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre and Grote Markt as well as about 10 minutes' walk from the train station.

I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. My room was a deluxe one and tucked away at the back of the hotel which meant I could barely hear the clock chiming. It was luxuriously decorated with real character and the bed was very comfortable. The building is beautiful and the view as you walk towards the illuminated hotel at night is incredibly attractive. We found the staff very helpful and enjoyed our breakfast and the sweets at reception!

It was the second time we booked this hotel for 1 night because this hotel is shortly near Roosendaal light and also close to Breda, so you can choose where to go. The hotel is easily accessible, quietly located and closed parking at the hotel (with 4 load points for electric cars). Reception was just like last time smooth, and very enthusiastic. We booked a luxury room as it is a bit wider. This was at the end of the corridor just next to the highway. When we came in the room we heard a lot of noise from that traffic. It was clear that the double windows were not closed well, but once it was okay, you hardly heard anything! The bathroom was also spacious, clean and everything you needed was present. Air/heating also worked well & quickly and especially without too much noise. Small fridge present & coffee box. Check out was also nice, a little less enthusiastic, but it was probably because she had to keep everything in order after breakfast.

Dit hotel en restaurant is zijn 4 sterren meer dan waard. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel en kamers waar op de kleinste details is gelet. Minibar gevuld met water, bier en zoete en zoute snacks, in de badkamer zelfs oorstokjes, de betere shampoo en douchegel tot doekjes voor je schoenen op te blinken toe. Geen gedoe met wifi-codes maar gewoon inloggen, heerlijke comfortabele bedden, een grote televisie ipv die zakdoek die meestal tegen de muur hangt en zoals we van Nederland gewend zijn alles kraaknet. Het restaurant behoort bij een van de betere die ik al bezocht heb, we hadden gekozen voor de 5 gangenmenu en wat een smaaksensatie was dat! Geen ouderwetse traditionele gerechten maar een moderne keuken met verschillende ingrediënten die elke keer weer verrasten. Ook hier weer een zeer vriendelijke bediening en zeker genoeg personeel om iedereen in een oogwenk te bedienen. Als je in Roosendaal bent en je moet er niet overnachten bezoek dan toch zeker het restaurant eens. Ons zien ze er nog terug.

Simple but comfortable room, with a pleasant view over the square of the train station. It`s a 10-minute stroll to the main square of Roosendaal. A friendly reception too. We would stay there again for sure.
