Outstanding
Ambiguous pre-arrival info: check-in was between 8am-5:30pm but that is only to check-in not to get a room. Our room wasn’t ready until 3pm. Nice position. We used the entrance around the back through the garden rather than off the main square and through the restaurant. Decent room and immaculately clean shower room. The lack of door from the shower/washroom to the bedroom was slightly disconcerting (the toilet is separate… and has a door). Pantry in the corridor with free fruit and drinks was a nice touch. Beer/wine/snacks were available as a payable option. Breakfast is pre-selected off a grid of options the night before. It was minimalistic and I would probably opt to eat out next time. And I think there will be a next time, Hoorn has plenty to keep visitors occupied and the Ysbrantsz is definitely worth another stay.

MMary LVery dubious with feedback, HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised and juts by pulling a curtain to your glass fronted room you have TOTAL PRIVACY. I didn’t mind not having a window as it makes for a better nights sleep as not disturbed by the morning light. The bath is so deep so had a beautiful relaxing bath and being able to watch the TV, you could in fact put some tranquil music on or the news or whatever you like to watch and see the TV from the bath as it is open to the room. The food in the restaurant is delicious. I would definitely book this hotel again. Being in a converted church adds to the beauty of this place and the restaurant toilets with the confessional door hatch adds to the touches. As do the sinks in the restaurant toilets and the round basins in the room all tie in.

I had a superior room for my stay. The room and bathroom were massive. The shower was lush and the water pressure and temperature were great. The bed was so soft it felt like a water bed... which I loved but know not everyone would. I really enjoyed my stay. Staff were phenomenal, Sybrina, Tiffany and Marlies.... they all were super supportive, from responding to my emails right away, to making suggestions and assigning me the accessible room. I'm glad I came. The only disappointment was the very low quality toilet paper... single ply and it just sticks, disintegrates or rolls... very shoddy.

GGuest UserCharming, eclectic hotel which really delivers: a good night’s sleep, a good hot shower, and a friendly welcome. Especially for our dogs, who particularly enjoyed their own special breakfast. Don’t expect the Ritz; do expect a hotel that leaves you with a sense of well-being and a feeling that you have touched a vanishing world.
