It is one of the best hotels in Shimabara. Despite the cleanliness of the entire hotel and the size of the rooms are impeccable, the price is reasonable. All of the rooms in the main building of the hotel face the Ariake Sea, so you can enjoy the wonderful sunrise sea view. The hotel's main building and new building have shared Onsen. You can enjoy various types of Onsen. However, there are few restaurants around the hotel. Even if they are, they are far from the hotel or in places that are difficult for first-time visitors. Under such circumstances, the restaurant attached to the hotel is always crowded. If you use the restaurant, you should check the available times without waiting. If you have a portable Wi-Fi router, you will have to worry that it is hard to use or not available at all in the building. Although there is free Wi-Fi service at this hotel, it cannot be guaranteed the speed and security of communication because it is shared by guests. Onsen is not so large compared to the number of people who can stay. In particular, it will be very crowded from 22:00 to 23:00 just before Onsen service ends. If you use it, you should avoid that time.
The breakfast is rich and delicious, with Japanese food and Western style. The hotel is actually a bit away from Shimabara Station, but it can't be reached within ten minutes. There are multiple buses in front of the door, which can reach Shimabara Port to Kumamoto, or directly to Unzen Hot Spring. The hotel room is facing Shimabara Castle, with a wide view of the scenery. It’s not far from the martial arts house. Go out and turn right a few steps to the home of the three Shiba Inu brothers. One more walk is Liyu Street. In short, the price is better.
Facing the sea, it is a traditional Japanese homestay run by a few grandmas. The room is traditional tatami and futon. The grandmas are friendly, and the breakfast is a traditional Japanese breakfast, salt-grilled salmon, miso soup, rice, tamagoyaki and pickles. Next to the bus station, the transportation is convenient. There are no separate bathrooms, there are public baths and baths. In short, it is a good review and a very authentic experience.

The room is clean. The goodness that is not a normal business hotel is that the size of the bed in the twin room is semi double. You can sleep relaxing. Next, there is a door, not only the bus is partitioned by the shower curtain, but it is also a normal bath. The staff is good. It is good as a business hotel.
Due to the typhoon, the hotel I was planning to be temporarily closed and I was in a hurry to use it. It was a hotel specialized in children, but the service was perfect. Alcohol such as beer is free, not to mention coffee and juice, in the lobby. Bring your room OK. The bath is also a powerful open-air bath where the sea approaches that much. This day is especially dynamic with a storm. Free service such as ice cream, coffee, jelly, etc. was also available in the open-air bath. The evening kaiseki was also taken home, and the morning buffet was also prepared at the entrance of the restaurant with a set of take-out containers. On the way home, he also said, ”Did you have any trouble?” I sent my luggage from the hotel to my home, but he reinforced the cardboard firmly. Because of the typhoon, the schedule was greatly crazy, but the 1 day at Nanfeng Tower was the greatest satisfaction in the trip (about 100 times) so far.
A business hotel located diagonally in front of Shimabara City Hall, a 2-3 minute walk from Shimabara Station. Parking is available around the hotel. Breakfast consisted of bento boxes, instant miso soup, and furikake. The room was relatively clean and not very large, so it was a so-called business hotel. I didn't enter the public bath, which is a men's and women's time system. The service at the front desk was normal and the amenities were normal. The location is good, but is it like a business hotel with no features? There was a station hotel within a few minutes walk.
But what a beautiful surprise!!! We had some doubt about the parking, but once we arrived we quietly parked from the 1-7 parking places next to the hotel. Well in line with the mega rooms of the American motel.Decoration a little old style, but everything very clean and very friendly and available staff. Well located inside the city, and near a supermarket very provided for take away. Excellent price quality ratio. Super super recommended!!
2021.12.30-31 I went with 5 people including my boyfriend and friends. This is my second time, but I went there once before, before the coronavirus. The person at the sushi corner of the buffet was unfriendly, but other than that he was very kind. ︎There is a corner in the bathroom where you can put your towel after using it, and I accidentally put it in there.I wanted to go in the morning too, so I called the front desk and they said they would charge a fee for towels. That's what he said. picture? I've been to many hot springs in the past, but I've never been told that I have to pay for towels. Is this normal now? Isn't this true even for a business hotel? I was a little disappointed. The rice was delicious, but I would have liked more fish for breakfast. This is a deliberate rating because the customer service, baths, and food were good.
This suite has been renovated. The official website describes it very well. The actual stay may be too high. It feels quite different from Hoshinoya. It is nice to soak in the private bath in the room and watch the ripples on the sea in the afterglow of the sunset.
The front desk of the hotel does not speak English at all, and needs to rely on a translator.
The hotel has a shuttle bus to take you to the hot spring hell to watch the fireworks.
The dinner of the hotel is very good. As a hot spring hotel, the kaiseki is very attentive in both the presentation and the ingredients. However, the waiter does not speak English at all, so our experience is a bit worse.
The breakfast is only Japanese and you need to wait until everyone is present before you can eat it. It is reasonable.
The hotel courtyard is beautiful, but you can't enter.

Shimabara Castle
逸逸香卿苑凄迷There are two routes to Shimabara, one is from Kumamoto Port to Shimabara Outer Port Passenger Ship, the other is by taking a bus or train from Isahaya Land. We chose to go from Nagasaki JR to Isahaya and then transfer to the private train. It is about one kilometer from the station to Shimabara Castle. The thick city wall is surrounded by a moat. There is only one bridge leading to the outside of the city. You need to buy a ticket to visit the castle tower. There was a staff member in samurai uniform at the door taking a photo with us. There are shops selling souvenirs and light meals opposite the castle tower.
Yusui Garden Shimeisou
Ccoo***anThis time I came to Shimabara City on the Shimabara Peninsula. I bought a one-day pass for Shimabara Electric Railway at Isahaya. You can take the rail bus for a long time. I took the railway all the way to Shimabara Station. After I came out, I first saw Shimabara Castle. Next Slowly wandering here, there are cute alleys full of various waterways. Shimabara is famous for its natural and clean water. These four villages are not to be missed. It seemed to be free in the past, but now you have to buy a ticket at the visitor center. It costs 300 yen. It's expensive, but the visitor center is almost next door to Siming Village. When I visited Simingzhuang, it seemed like an ordinary house at first glance. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by enthusiastic staff, who served me hot tea and chatted about everyday things. I communicated with him in broken Japanese and felt the human touch here. The garden is not big, but it is surrounded by a clear pool. There are many fat and big carps in it. Sitting on the Japanese tatami, admiring the scenery and sipping hot tea, it is really a leisurely and pleasant time. When I finally left, the staff kept delivering it to the door. It was like visiting a friend's house. I was very happy. I can only say that this cute attraction hidden in the alley of Shimabara is not to be missed when you come to Shimabara.
Shimabara Bukeyashiki (Samurai residence street)
Jjackie75A small road, a small canal in the middle, on both sides are the old Wujia residence that can be visited freely. No tickets are required. The open houses have wonderful wax statues. The cold ones can be scary. Here you can learn about the scene of Wujia life in the old days.
Mt. Unzen Disaster Memorial Hall (Gamadasu Dome)
闲闲来有趣The Yunxianyue Disaster Memorial Hall is to commemorate the magma flow, wildfire and mudslides caused by the eruption of Yunxianyue volcano in 1993, which killed hundreds of people. The memorial site is located where the lava flow burst into the sea. The mountain in the distance is the Yunxianyue crater. The museum displays a model of the cloud fairy mountain terrain to show the path of the disaster. Along the spiral ramp, on the second floor, you can enter the watchtower, facing the sea, a window edge above, indicating the height of the waves when the earthquake in East Japan triggered the tsunami.
Heiseishinyama
海海绵乖乖In fact, the bus passed by at that time, and I didn't know what mountain this was. I feel that the greening on the mountain is very good and the natural scenery is harmonious.
