This hotel is a true jewel, rarely found nowadays in the age of ”business hotels”. This hotel does not just do business, ii provides you with a home away from home for a day, week or month. It is and has aged, admittedly, but very gracefully. It has character, starting from a generous 32+ sqm room with a superb view out into the sea, solid wood furniture, an excellent public bath on floor one, very comfortable ”viewing areas” to appreciate sunsets or read a book at the higher floors, a tasty breakfast (Japanese) in the morning plus some good coffee for those who can`t live without it. Thank you for your help for the first time in more than 20 years. A few days before the stay, I received a confirmation call for transportation and arrival time, and kindly told me various things. On the day of the event, the attendant who saw the parking lot advised me to carry my family and luggage to the dock first, which was very helpful. The building itself feels old, but it was well maintained and comfortable. The food was voluminous at night and in the morning, and it was delicious. However, children in the lower grades of elementary school basically have the same dishes as adults, and it is good if it is in the upper grades, but the food that can be eaten in the lower grades is limited, and I think it is painful for children. Other than that, I am very satisfied. I would like to take care of you again. Thank you very much.
The camping lighting and speakers were also available, and the facilities were substantial.
The person who guided me was also good, and there was no part to worry about.
Speaking of strength, there were several parts that I was worried about the durability of the floor, but I think it would be okay if it was standard weight.
My trip this time was a family trip with four family members. I have visited Mie Prefecture several times in the past, but it was the first time I went to Shima because I stayed at Toba and the difference every time. I chose ”Haifu” with an open-air bath with an ocean view guest room in all rooms on a remote island called Watanabe Island. In fact, this ”Haifu” was an inn that I was very worried about when I stayed in Mie Prefecture in the past and looked at other accommodations. However, I didn't make a reservation because I thought it was a little far to go to Shima, so I chose the place of stay this time. It was such a long-awaited ”yes”, but in conclusion, it was a great answer to stay! First, when you arrive at the parking lot of the inn, you will be guided to the nearby dock, from which you will board a dedicated ferry and head to the inn on the remote island on the opposite bank. At this point, there was a feeling of excitement that was not found in other inns, and the children were very happy. The whole facility was very beautiful, and there was a large bath between the sister inn called fukujuso next door, but the corridor connecting the two was very elegant, and there was a beautiful garden and a very good atmosphere. Also, this time I stayed in a 12.5 tatami room, but the room was large and I was able to spend very clean and comfortable. You can see the sea from the room, and there is a private open-air bath with a large bathtub on the balcony of the room, so it is great to be able to enjoy the hot spring open-air bath while looking at the sea at any time you like. I took a bath at night and in the morning. In addition, the meal was served at the restaurant, and the dinner was served in the course tailoring, but the sashimi, soup, fish dishes, meat dishes were all very delicious, and the children were very happy to eat. In this course, it was a plan to prepare a private room for dinner and breakfast, so I was very grateful that children could get tired of playing. This time I stayed for only one night, so I stayed and checked out the next day, but next time I would like to stay for a few days and take a walk on the island. Thank you for a very nice time.

Very Good
KKennyMy stay at Shima Hantou in Shima City, Japan was a delightful experience. The location of the hotel is convenient, earning it a solid 4 out of 5 rating. Although it is a bit far from Ise City, it's easily accessible by car, with just a 1-hour journey.
The hotel's cleanliness also deserves a commendable 4 out of 5 rating. As a traditional Japanese hotel, the exterior has a charming appeal. While the interior design may not be the most modern, it is still well-maintained and clean.
One aspect that truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always ready to assist, earning a perfect 5 out of 5 rating for service.
In terms of facilities, the hotel offers a basic hot spring bath, which was a relaxing experience. However, it's worth noting that there is only one pool for bathing, and the absence of a cold water bath and sauna facilities somewhat limited the options. Therefore, I would rate the facilities as 4 out of 5.
Overall, I highly recommend Shima Hantou for a pleasant stay in Shima City. The location, cleanliness, and exceptional service make it a great choice for travelers seeking a traditional Japanese hotel experience.
GGuest UserI think it was better than it was written in the word of mouth.
I took my pet, so I stayed here where my pet could stay with me.
There was no particular smell, and I think the dog and we were able to slow down very much.
The dinner was rich in quantity and number of items and was very satisfied.
I wanted to come again if I had the opportunity.
Thank you.

Ago Bay
拉拉罗谢尔司马昭The pier is only a few minutes' walk from JR Kashikojima Station. There are regular boats to nearby islands at the pier. There is also a sightseeing boat every hour. The boat is like an 18th-century Spanish pirate ship and runs for about 50 minutes. You can see the pearl-cultured rafts on the boat. It will stop at the shore once on the way, and you can go ashore to watch the artificial pearl culture operation.
