Claudio e Katia

We were looking for a place to stay for two night that was well- placed in relation to our different plans in Umbria. We absolutely found what we were looking for! In Foligno we chose Guesia Village Hotel and Spa. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. The room was of a good size and very clean. They had afternoon drinks from 6-8 pm in the lovely garden and the restaurant “Da Angelo” is good. The breakfast was very nice and all the staff sweet and helpful. We hiked in Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, visited Assisi and Perugia. We can definitely recommend staying here.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWhat an amazing experience we had at Borgo Petroro! From the moment we entered in the little hamlet we knew we were in for something special. The quiet location among olive trees makes it a good base to explore the region and the surrounding towns like Todi and Montefalco wineries. The room is beyond comfortable and sparkling clean. We enjoyed the facilities like the pool and the restaurant where we ate delicious food in the courtyard. Service is top notch! We especially loved the breakfast where local products are presented. Next time we are staying more than one night!
GGuest UserThe B&B is located in a hill house, at the edge of a wooden wood, 10 minutes' drive from Perugia. The quiet and silence of the area ensures maximum relaxation and rest. However, it is essential to get in the car. I do not think there are public means to reach it, but there is no problem with parking, family management characterized by kindness and availability for any need. The rooms are large, equipped with bathrooms, smart TV, free wifi, coffee machine with dishes, refrigerator, suitable number of towels, phones and air conditioning. The room was cleaned and the toilet was cleaned. Abundant breakfast varied and with local products. Cost not very low but, however, less than the average of the area. Recommended!
This place is amazing! It is very close to the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi and convenient for shopping. The room was the most comfortable room I have stayed at in years. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was nice with lots of hot water and great water pressure. All of the basic amenities are provided and the hotel staff is extremely helpful. The breakfast was delicious and offered an excellent start to the day. Please note that Assisi is a hillside village. As such, there are a lot of stairs in the hotel. (I think we only saw one hotel that may be “flat” with a lift.) If you need a room on the main level (which is still up some steps) or with minimal steps, be sure to let the staff know ahead of time.
GGuest UserThis was a really good option and great value. It's a bit out of town but easy to get to by car or train. The rooms are very spacious (much more so than most at this price) and in well maintained art deco style and have attractive views out over hills and good sized balconies to take full advantage of the views. It's unpretentious, congenial and represents really good value for money. Service was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend considering. Thank you to all at the hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located in the city center.
My room was small, but cosy. There is a decent pool with wet and finnish sauna.
The breakfast service needs improvement, as well as cleaning.

Ggazi_jdThe only lack of a point is actually because of myself, I don’t know that Perugia is a mountain city at all. I thought it was easy to walk from the train station to the hotel, but who knows that it was a steep slope, it was instant petrochemical, and the perseverance family pulled the box up the mountain, definitely more energy than jumping the grass. The hotel has an elevator up the mountain for 5m, which is very convenient. Breakfast is also very rich. Mind if you don't mind, the bus or mini subway can be.
110% - above and beyond/cannot recommend highly enough. Stefano speaks first class English and the team went out of the way and succeeded in ensuring I enjoyed my stay here. It has a wonderful clean good sized swimming pool. It was also wonderful to have a large ground floor room with outside seated area. The location is wonderful being between station and main town. There is also good parking right outside the property. Taxis available from train station before 6pm or alternatively easy 20 minute walk. I left on a Sunday so Stefano kindly ran me to the station complimentary as no taxis were available. Castiglione del Lago itself is a small but beautiful town with lakeside areas and you can even rent a boat. There are ferries to the nearby island Isola Maggiore which is wonderful with it's church, history and tourist shops. Great location also for quick and cheap train rides into the nearby town of Cortona and good location for trains to other hill-towns e.g. Orvieto. Breakfast was wonderful- cold meats and cheeses, yoghurts, pastries accompanied by coffee- I enjoyed their cappuccinos and you could even receive a top up for free. I hope that I will be fortunate enough to return one day. Stefano was extremely helpful from the beginning of the booking process to departure at the train station. Grazie mille Stefano and team. Tip: if you want the best rates book direct.
GGuest UserVery nice place, close to the historical city of Assisi. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice rooms, very comfortable. All essentials were present. Good food. Parking in front. Nice walkings around; stunning garden. The meeting rooms are quite good as well.

Very Good
DDon FWe have been visiting Da Angelo for more than a decade, and have always been extremely satisfied with everything we experience. Of course, when people at a hotel and restaurant recognize you and address you by name, it is a good feeling. Our stay this time, was for 18 days and every day, we ate dinner in the restaurant. The food is always good and the house wine the same. I cannot think of many locations that match the quality of food, the friendliness of staff and the location. The view up the Umbrian valley towards Perugia and down the valley towards Foligno as well as across to the hills around Lake Trasimeno is unique. We fell in love with the City of Assisi in 1987 and have returned regularly since then. We are not religious, but the spirituality is obvious in all around it, and this extends and is enhanced in Da Angelo. The Family Tardioli have become more than simply hosts, as have all the staff, from the caretaker thru the room-personal and the waiters, to perhaps the most important : the Kitchen! The only reason I did not put on 12 KG in weight is due to my walking 20-30 KM per day, which is easy in this beautiful part of the world. Simple, stylish and a good place to stay.
We really loved this hotel. It has a traditional hotel feel to it, with very friendly helpful staff. We started mid July and it was very quiet, so this review may reflect that as we had the run of the pool and services due to low residency. It is situated outside of the main old town centre and of you arrive without a car as we were you will need to be of moderate fitness to walk in to the town centre as it’s a steep walk up, however there is an escalator for part of the way. I would recommend visiting the Marmore falls which you can get to from Perugia station direct via Terni. Once at terni it’s a short ride on the bus. This I would say is best to arrive early for, and spend the entire day there! Also Assisi and Solleto are two other Umbrian towns on the same train line we’ll worry a visit. Travel costs are very reasonable. Overall a great place to visit, and the Perugia hotel is a lovely place to stay. Bear in mind a bus is best to catch from the station to the hotel, as when you arrive with your luggage the pavements are in very poor condition to cart a suitcase along.
