Although the first impression of the place is not the best (espcially if you arrive at night as it was our case), as soon as you step inside the place, everything changes. It is located inside a convent, with six rooms - we occupied a 4-bedroom and a 2-bedroom both of them spacious, quiet and clean. Breakfast is absolutely marvelous, comprising many homemade pastries, cereal and excellent capuccinos!! The place has a terrace with magnificent views of the sunset on the sea, with some tables or chairs to have a drink. There is also a restaurant a few steps beside which is an excellent option for dinner. Sabrina and Giullia are always available for advice either in person or by wapp and they really run this place as a family bussiness. Thank you both for your patience and your help. Just returned from a week at Hotel Villa Pina. Views from #301 were spectacular. We made full use of the terrace to relax and read and drink cold wine. Fresh white cotton sheets and towels changed every day. Substantial continental breakfast and delicious freshly prepared three course evening meals served by attentive and friendly staff every evening. I must mention that it is the Italian tradition to serve a generous pasta portion as a first course. It is entirely usual that the second course is a more modest and very flavoursome meat or fish course. And of course homemade Italian desserts are sweet and heavy. I think some reviewers perhaps had different expectations of a traditional Italian hotel and perhaps would prefer a modern European generic hotel instead. We loved our week and did not have time or inclination to search for damaged furniture or cracked tiles. Instead we admired the interesting antiquities displayed around the hotel which has been family run since 1909. We loved the storytelling displayed in the old black and white photographs in abundance around the restaurant. Instead we ordered an after-dinner glass of wine and enjoyed the spectacular sunsets over Capri and Vesuvius. Thank you to our kind hosts. We only have good memories.

We booked the Fattoria Terranova through a UK wedding planning company for our wedding in Sorrento in June. The place is amazing, the staff couldn't do enough for us on the day and even the build up to the wedding. They were happy to mix up the menus and catered for all our guests, all the vegetables and herbs which were served are grown on the grounds and tasted amazing! All of our guests loved this place and agreed that it was by far the best wedding they had been too. We found the drinks prices were very reasonable, it was €10 a bottle for wine, €16 for prosecco and the spirits were around €7, this may be because we purchased so much lol. The food we were served was all amazing, it tasted fabulous! I can't recommend this venue to anyone looking for something a little different for their wedding!

The Melrose is a beautiful property located just outside Sorrento and just before Massa Lubrense. This location lends itself to creating the perfect oasis on the Amalfi coast, away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities in peak summer. The pool area is comfortable, featuring a bar and many loungers- the hotel only has 12 rooms so this area is never too busy and a good spot to spend the afternoon in the sun. Mind- ”beach clubs” in the area charge upto 50 euros for sun loungers on crowded commercial beaches. The rooms are modern, which is significantly different from its neighbors, and offer good views of Vesuvius and Capri. Comfy beds, a stocked minibar and good aircon make for a very good nights sleep. While the Melrose is walkable to only a handful of restaurants, the manager and concierge Mr Walter is proactive in offering suggestions, making bookings and arranging for free ”courtesy” cabs to and from the nicest restaurants in the region. We ate out all 4 nights and were promptly picked up by taxis and dropped back- sometimes even at 11/12pm. The breakfast is very very good- serving a variety of pastires, local meats and cheeses and a live egg station. Finally, the staff at the Melrose are an absolute delight and always happy to help. In addition to organising dinners each night, Walter also booked us exclusive boat trips to Capri and Positano and even lent us some coins for the bus when we needed- a true gentlemen. The ladies running the breakfast restaurant always greeted us with a smile and were happy to chat about our days and offer suggestions. A must-visit before this hidden gem is on everyone's list and the prices skyrocket!!

Absolutely everything about this place is fantastic. The staff were attentive and professional, our room was comfortable and spacious, the pool was excellent (and we always found sunloungers available), and the food was amazing. We ended up eating in the hotel 3 nights out of 6, as it was not only excellent, but fantastic value for money. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, so getting into and out of Sorrento town was easy enough. We were glad we hadn't stayed right in the town - this was just the right distance from it for us. Honestly, I can't recommend it enough.
